  • New (to me) K9

I've been looking for a K9 for the longest time, but hadn't had much luck. Yesterday I found a guy selling one more-or-less locally (100 miles or so north of me), contacted him, and long story short...it'll be mine come Saturday. We had to work out the logistics of a face to face meet, but around 11:00 Saturday, I'll be the proud owner of an awesome K9. Here's a picture of it:

I am really looking forward to Saturday...like a kid at Christmas time!

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

IMO the K9 is the finest single stack 9mm on the market, hands down! It took me about one magazine worth of shooting, of my buddies K9, to know that I just had to have one. So, about one week later I saw a used black K9 at a local gun show and my Rugar LC9 was gone. This was probably the best trade I've ever made!

        Good luck with yours man...

I picked it up, it's as clean in person as it is in the pictures. I brought it home, took it apart and cleaned things up (I always like to clean a gun when I first bring it home) and found that it fits perfectly in my Don Hume JIT slide holster that I have for a 1911. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but once I'm satisfied it's reliable, it'll probably be my primary carry under light clothing. It is one sweet firearm!

Good for you toocool. I've found my K40 fits in most of my 1911 holsters. Wish my PM45 fit them.

                I often wish my K40 was a K9 too.

Let us know how she runs when you get to shoot it.

Nice I want a K9, but it's not in the budget now

Wow, if that was a straight across trade, you stole the K9. I traded a LC9 and a LCP for a P9 + $150 and I think I got the better part of that trade

I don't have a K, just an MK40, but I've found the CW40 and 45 work well in my 1911 holsters. BTW, welcome back, Bawanna.

No it wasn't a straight trade, I still had to pay $300. It was well worth it to me...

That sounds about right, and I agree, my Kahr feels better and has a much better trigger than the LC9

I finally got to the range (well, a field on land a friend of my son owns) and was able to put 100 rounds through my K9, a mix of Blazer brass and Federal white box generic. Not a malfunction of any kind, but hard to judge accuracy. All we had for targets were some old, beat up pallets that were propped against each other. The weight of the stainless steel frame makes this a pussycat to shoot! I think I'm going to be buried with this gun! I'll have to hit a real range so I can try some accuracy testing. But all in all, I am one happy camper!

Thanks for the range report. Glad it worked out for you. The K9 is the only gun I regret selling.
