K9 elite is an awesome firearm. To those of us lucky enough to own one:hold on to it, cherish it. (The polymer thing, profit margins, competition...) All steel...probably a thing of the past. Don't sell your SS Kahr. Such an awesome shooting gun is truly a classic,
    will be a collectors item.

I sold a K9 years ago. It was the only gun I regretted selling. So much so, that I was finally able to replace it with a new K9 in 12/14. I will never sell this one.

        BTW, SSS
Sig Sauer P 220 45 is an awesome shooter and great night stand gun as well. Have three daughters. The youngest wants a Kahr K9. The Bf's like the Sig.

Kahr, like most companies in any given industry, have found a way to boost revenue and margins by making a decent quality yet less expensive product than their flagship steel pistols.

In the name of profit, I can't see why Kahr would ever manufacture a K45. It would be awesome, but I doubt that it would be a money maker.

It wouldn't be a big seller. Kahr makes great pistols but they don't have the brand awareness of Smith, Glock, Springfield, ect. Furthermore, it's hard for a potential customer to justify the cost of a K, T, MK, TP, P or PM when they've never been exposed to them or shot one.

Kahr buyers tend to that rare breed whose tastes and understanding of what they need in a pistol are very refined, very dialed in. A person might spend $500 on a Glock/XD/M&P based on a recommendation from a buddy, but not a grand based on the same recommendation for a pistol they have no awareness or exposure to.

...and yet they've expended a lot of engineering effort on the new stainless Desert Eagle.

            Who says there's no market?

Good point. The DE will always sell not because of usefulness, quality or practicality but because it is quite literally the iconic movie star of guns. Kahrs have been in the movies, but the DE is the star of the show however ridiculous it is. I'd guess that the market for the DE is bigger than what the K45 market would be.

Ever watch "Blue Bloods," Donnie Wahlberg's character (Det. Danny Reagan) carries a Kahr K series pistol. Can't tell if it's the 9 or 40 but it's definitely a Kahr.

I would just love to own a K and or P series 45 with a T series slide and barrel. It would be just Nirvana of a combination but Kahr is to damn stupid to listen to its' market and what they want...

How stupid are they? So stupid that last year at the Indy NRA show I had a Kahr representative tell me that Kahr never produce a P series pistol with a T series slide and barrel (TP9) even though I own one. And no it wasn't cut down, this is how I purchase it NIB from the gunshop who assured me that this was a production piece.

I agree. It would be an awesome weapon. In a steel K or T, the venerable. 45 acp, with its low pressure, would be a cream puff. Maybe we should all flood Kahr's customer service inbox with an email demanding a K45 simultaneously. Maybe 500-1000 emails all within an hour would at least make the decision makers at Kahr perk up.

But they spend money developing competition guns with optics and compensated barrels, which have a pretty slim customer base. And pretty colors for the ladies. Nuttin' for us real men who love steel.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not sure what they were thinking with the competition pistol. Colors, I can understand because I know a handful of ladies who have become armed because their pistol was "cute and pink".

Personally, besides a K45, I love to see Kahr develop a P and a PM9 double stack that isn't much wider than their single stacks.

Hmm. A full size 17+1 "staggered magazine" Kahr...

                          Naw, not for me.

I'm thinking more along the lines of p or pm in size, but slightly wider for a 9 or 10 round capacity.

Kinda like a Glock 26, a little thinner (Glocks have thick mags), but with the Kahr trigger?

Yes, but with some ingenuity I think it could be slightly smaller than a 26 in every dimension.
