Magazine polishing

Has anybody ever tried to polish a Kahr magazine? How's the best way to do it? Thanks.

I polished all mine. Like the barrel and barrel hood they polish pretty easy. A buffing wheel on a bench grinder makes very short work of it, a polishing tip on a Dremel will get it done or you can even do it by hand. Takes longer of course.

Remove whatever the finish is they put on and they come out nice and shiny.

I'm also a polisher. I use a buffing wheel on my drill press. I used auto buffing polish, coarse then fine. I used Flitz to finish up. I also used the Flitz to polish/smooth the inside of the magazine and also a bit on the spring. Once you do that and re-lube it's very smooth. Like Bawanna, I polished my barrel. It comes out like a mirror and looks really nice.

uploadfromtaptalk1424724118244.jpg Mags for my K40 Covert. One polished, one unpolished for comparison. Increasingly finer grades of sandpaper that I found in the auto body section at AutoZone. I brought it out to 3000 grit. I think I started with 1000 grit. The only other thing you need is 20-30 minutes and BAM a really shiny magazine.

I don't have pictures handy but mine polished up real easy and looked like chrome when I was done.

The sandpaper and hand polishing takes longer obviously but acheives and equally smooth shiny surface.

Same for the barrel and barrel hood. Easy. Now try polishing the slide and you better bring your lunch.

It's darn tough. Polished on and off on my PM45 and it's shiny but not like the barrel or mags. Hard stuff.
