Bud's K9 Blem - model ZK9093?

Hi guys,

I'm sure several of you here know that Bud's has plenty of blem Kahr's they sell, but I'm looking for some specific information regarding the model number.

So Bud's has a K9 blemish with a title of "KAHR K9 9MM 3.5 SS 8RD CA LEGAL BLEM", Model "ZK9093", and no picture for $556 or make an offer. I've always wanted a T9 or a K9, and this seems like a really good deal. I understand that the K9091 was the older K9, K9093 is the current SS model, K9093N is the current SS with night sights, K9094 is the black model, K9096 is the Elite, and K9096N is the Elite with Night Sights. What is the ZK9093? What exactly does the "Z" mean? I figure it either has something to do with it being a blem, or that it's CA Legal?

I wasn't aware Kahr made specific CA Legal models, or are all Kahr's CA Legal? I have no problem buying a blem, but I won't buy it if it's a specific CA model that has different internals, etc.

A K9 would sure go nice with my pair of CW380 (one black, and one purple for the lady), CM9, and TP 45!

Any input?

Here is a page on Kahr's website where they mention a California Legal P380. Looks like required features are a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnect. Also, Bud's has a used P380 that's listed as California Legal and features include loaded chamber indicator and "magazine safety".

It looks like a good price but I'd pass on it, primarily because of the mag disconnect. You might contact Buds and find out for sure.

A mag disconnect is definitely a deal breaker. Not crazy over a chamber indicator, because that means less common parts should anything ever happen.

Meh, I'll pass...or just buy a normal K9 .

The best people to answer your question can be found at Bud's. The Z could have just been a typo or a designation that they use for blem guns.

You might do some research and see if the mag disconnect can be removed, kind of like on the Ruger MkIII 22/45 where you can replace the disconnect components with an aftermarket bushing.

This blem is really only $90-100 less than the normal K9093, so I think I'm just gonna skip it. I'm sure I can find a way to disable the mag disconnect and remove the LCI, but my time spent on doing that is worth more than the $90 I would save buying this.

I think I'm gonna take a step back and evaluate the K9 vs K9 Elite, and may just spring for the K9 Elite down the road (tax refund?).

I was really lucky to get a new blemished K9 from Buds in December 2014 with tritium sights for under $500.00. My understanding is that the blemished guns have a "B" in the model number. My model # had "NB" for nights sights, blemished.

Actually from what I understand, a blemished gun will have a "B" stamped in the trigger guard area.

Not mine. I looked for the "B" on the trigger guard and did not find it. I found the "B" inside the top of the slide, between the muzzle opening and the barrel hood opening.
