  • Happy with my new K9 stainless. Pictures

I picked up this K9 for $450. Closer to $490 after Washington's sales tax, but it is in like new condition and appears to have been fired very little. Serial number is AR86XX and the envelope containing the spent shell is dated 24 Jan 2005, so I assume that is it's approximate birthday.

I had a problematic K40 in the past that I finally got to function reliably and promptly sold. I hoped to avoid any similar problems with the K9, so I did some prep before firing it. Mainly a good cleaning and tuning up the magazines. I sanded the follower so it would pass cleanly up the tube without snagging on the magazine catch.

I took it out to my pile of dirt this weekend and the K9 performed flawlessly. I have only had a chance to shoot 50 rounds of Winchester White Box and 16 rounds of Remington HTP so far. Still haven't decided on a defensive round but the K9 digested the HTP just fine.

I had a couple of failures to lock back on empty that was most likely my fault. I am used to shooting thumbs forward and may have been riding the slide lock lever.

I am very pleased with the performance of my new K9. It functions reliably and shoots accurately. My groups should tighten up as I continue to break it in and learn the trigger. It will make a nice, slim carry piece. Now to order some springs from Wolff.

I agree and it seems to shoot good too, iffen you were aiming for the middle that is.

Note to self, when AFCop points K9 at oneself and tells you to do something, best do it, or bob and weave alot?

+1. Never seen targets that look like that myself.

Thanks guys. It is a nice shooter. I was only 7 yards away and was doing relatively slow fire. As you can see here my group opens up a bit as I speed things up. The trigger is nice and smooth, I just need to get used to the long pull.

I dont need one of those and dont have the money but sure do want one...
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The K9 is a thing of beauty. I love my T9 but I think he needs a little brother. now to figure out a way to convince my wife of that...

AFCop, Congrads on the great deal. I couldn't find a used K9, so I had to buy mine new. I didn't have much trouble with the DAO trigger because I switched over from a revolver. The trigger was only a little bit too heavy out of the box but dry firing for a few evenings gave it a pull like a custom trigger. I stopped using the first joint of my trigger finger, and I started using a straight back pull using the finger pad, and it made all the difference in the world. It's more like a trigger on a lightly tuned Browning High Power than a revolver now. I expect will get even better over time.

put that 5# striker spring in the gun and u will notice a very nice different, but yet not upsetting your actual trigger travel. a very nice mod that just drops right in. Wolffs gunsprings.com
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
