  • Kahr k9 holsters for summer carry

I know I've been posting a lot lately but I'm trying to transition my Kahr K9 from winter to summer carry.

I have a Galco COP 3 slot OWB holster that works great. But it prints in the summer.

I'm really looking for something either without a top break OWB, or something IWB that keeps the pistol super secure. Maybe even Kydex if such a thing exists. I've been looking high and low on the internet with little success.

Would appreciate any and all feedback.

For OWB w/out a thumb break, I have a Desantis Speed Scabbard for my K9. Fits the gun really well. The K9 is a little large for me for summer carry. So I go with my MK9 and when I need something lighter my Ruger LCR 357 (carrying 38spc).

Kahr spec's indicate K9 & CW9 the same except K9 barrel is 0.1" shorter and frame is 0.1" longer in overall length. CW9 holsters should fit.
Another on this forum is using High Noon holster. Also check out nelsonholsters.com., hand molded leather, good retention. I use one for OWB Ruger SR9 and another for my S&W M&P 40 cal. full size. PJ holsters makes IWB Kydex. I use it to carry both my CW9 and CM9,.

I think this may be my next holster. I really like the hybrid design with a single clip

I use Cook's kydex for all of my OWB carry..........................quick on, quick off. Never thought I'd see the day when I used kydex with a clip, but now that I do, it's very comfortable. I like a bit of slide room on my holsters, for getting in and out of autos, sitting in restaurants, etc.

I like this single-clip hybrid kydex & leather IWB holster from MDJ Custom Holsters -- as it is TUCKABLE and doesn't have all the bulk that a 2-clip CrossBreed style would have... (Tried one of those, and didn't like it...)

For my Kahr P9 Covert, I just don't see the need for 2 "branded" clips being visible on my belt and this one is more discrete yet very comfortable!

The holster works really well for me, and the price was very competitive.

I like Garret Industries for kydex, especially the Silent Thunder versions (leather lining makes it pretty quite on the draw) http://www.giholsters.com/category-s/342.htm

I'm a fan of Mernickle (common knowledge) for OWB carry, but for IWB I'm a Garret Silent Thunder guy too.

Only issue I have is I keep breaking the belt clips. I hope to order the leather straps with snaps that go over the belt.
That should solve that clip breaking issue.

I love the leather lining, much easier on guns, especially blued guns.

I love my Cook's IWB for my CM9. Great retention with some tension adjustment. I wear it in the appendix position. Easy access from any position including sitting in my car.

This little Bulldog Cases slide works remarkably well. With a good belt, I can conceal a K40 under just an untucked tee.

Looks like a nice holster especially for the on sale price but it doesn't looks he offers it for the K9.

Doesn't look like they offer the K9 either.

I own a PM45 and a K9, the PM45 does not work in a K9 holster. I bought a K9 Alessi pancake holster for use with my PM45, it almost fit (the Kahr specs appeared to be almost identical, but I could not make it work, had to buy a used K9 to go with the holster. :-).

But...the K9 works very well in my PM45 holsters, good retention. I see they offer a PM45 version, your K9 should work. The difference that held me up, was the distance from top of slide to bottom of trigger guard, is about .100" greater on the PM45, just enough not to fit. But the extra .100" is not noticeable when using a K9 in a PM45 holster.

BTW, that .100" difference was estimated with the old MkI eyeball, did not measure with a caliper, but I can if needed.
