I'm not a fan of pancake or any holster with front wings. IMHO it limits how much I can slide the holster fore and aft. I carry in Don Hume JIT holsters on nylon or canvass belts for easy sliding, and I don't weave the belt through the hip belt loop. That way I can push the holster as far forward as I like when bending or go back behind the hip when wearing an open shirt or coat.
I've done this for many years and I'm amazed that when I grab the holster through my shirt and push it one way or the other as the need requires, no one has noticed or seemed concerned.
I usually carry just in front of my hip bone.
This design's rear wing pulls the butt tight against the body. Not like IMO the front wing pull which cancels the pull of the rear wing.
IIRC this was first designed by a holster maker named Bruce Nelson, now long gone.
I've been using these same holsters for over 10 years with no stretching or softening of the leather. Other well known makers offer this design but for the about $35.00 these cost form Hume they're well worth the price. Oh ! I have no affiliation with Hume. Just passing on what works for us
