  • Carrying Kahr magazines

Just bought a P9 to replace my beloved PF-9.
My only problem so far is when carrying extra mag's in my pocket, they shed rounds.
What can I do to keep all 7 rounds in the magazine until needed?

I had the same problem. Had to buy a couple cheap nylon pocket knife sheaths to slide them into top first to keep the rounds in place. I found if you buy shorter sheaths it allows you to shed it with one hand (slide it off with your thumb).
Or buy a mag pouch :-)

I make molded leather pocket Kahr 9mm mag holders.
I make a few different ones, but this one is small and lets me put it beside my money clip in my front left pocket. To draw the mag, catch the hook on the edge of your pocket.
      PM if interested.

Old LIncoln I think it was carefully pinched the feed lips a little more parallel on his maga and cured the losing rounds problem.

A good form fitting mag pouch will of course help also.

While I have made and used the single mag holders I have always felt they were almost a two hand operation to get to. I developed my own idea which is a two mag holder for the back pocket. It always stays upright. The top is loose and I can quickly pull out a spare mag with my index and middle finger. The case always stays in the pocket. Attached are pictures. Dan

BEARDOG was nice enough to make me a mag holder for my PM9 mag. The work is excellent and it works like a charm.

Limited to one photo. My wifes new camera has pictures with file sizes so big. I don't know how to make them smaller. Dan

I use the Microsoft Office Picture Handler to crop and re-size photos. I'm not sure if that comes with the OS or my other Windows software. I double-click on the photo and MOPH opens with the picture selected. You can right-click on a photo and then select "Open With..." and see what's available. I crop and re-size to 640x480 DPI resolution for posts here.

I use Paint to convert most picture files into .jpg files and save them.

Before doing any editing, use "save as" to make a copy, re-naming it, and then edit THAT, saving your original picture and its resolution.

Thank's O'Dell, I am glad you like it.

                    Look's good, Whaleman.
I also make double magazine "wallets" for rear pocket carry. Here are are few I made for some forum members.

This is a 6rd mag wallet.

                    This one is for 8rd'ers

BEARDOG, Does the open side of the mag go towards the butt or the outside? I didn't like either way and thats why I have leather on both sides. Dan

Mitchell at "Tactical Kydex" makes inexpensive Kydex magazine holders:

He used to do this as a hobby and stopped at some times to take care of other projects. He works quickly and his products are inexpensive and great holders.

My last order was $175, including shipping, and I just ordered everything that I could think of. I've cut the clips off some for rare pocket carry and in my first orders got IWB as well as OWB models . The IWB can be tight and need some backing to keep the mags from digging into your sides... or love-handles. I got a piece of Kydex and cut strips for that, as well as adding Moleskin where needed.

I must have 30 or 40 of his holders now.

Whaleman, Are those comfortable to sit on? I sit most of my day and slouch in the chair so I'm basically sitting on the back pocket.

I found good use of my old cell phone holder. I can attach it to my belt without drawing much attention. Nice snug fit and comes out readily. Zero added cost from my wallet. Holds my backup mag for my P40 nicely.

I went on Midway USA in search of a nice fitting pocket holster for my CW9 magazines. I found this Desantis product which looked promising, so I ordered it. Well, it turned out to be fantastic! The fit and finish of the product is outstanding, and I believe it has several advantages over a more traditional leather pocket holster:

                              1. The super grippy material allows the holster to stay put in the pocket upon drawing the magazine.
                              2. The cost of synthetic materials are usually less expensive than leather.
                              3. The angle and design of the product allows for extremely fast deployment, the mag is perfectly angled and centered in the offhand pocket.

I tried a few draws and reloads at my range after getting my CW9 rigged up (outdoor range, RO perks ) and the magazine holster worked great. It was fast to draw and the rounds were always perfectly seated (A common problem with the Kahr magazines in some holsters). I carry the holster with the nose of the rounds facing towards the front (or belt buckle), so drawing the magazine comes naturally (after lots of USPSA competition and practice doing the same stroke).

If your wondering, the link is here:

I carry my CW9 in a Remora holster IWB, about 3:00 position, with a spare 8 round magazine in my left side pocket. Perfect!
