  • Cleaning and lubricating product

I have been using a product called Break Free CLP to clean and lube all my other guns but have not seen it listed in any posts here on the Kahr forum. Do any of you use this product??? It has kept all of my non-Kahrs working great but after reading many of the discussions, it makes me wonder if I shouldn't also be using something like some TW25 as a grease also on my new P9.

    Thanks for input

    Colt Detective Spec. Beretta 84

Bushmaster 5.56, BSA Martini Target .22
I'm pretty sure God created me just for the hell of it.

It's what I use for everything except the bore. I don't see any reason to use anything else. It just works.

TW25 is all I use but what ever works for u, just stay with it. when ur gun is running right, why switch. Lotrs of good lubes out there. I just stayed with TW25. It doesn't run in my pocket..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

CLP is good and been around a long time. I use weaponshield oil, which is a bit heavier than CLP, and use grease (slide glide) on the rails and barrel lugs

BreakFree CLP here along with tetra gun grease. I clean every trip for the most part so I even CLP the bore. Never had an ish with it not being strong enough to degunk the barrel.

As far as I'm concerned CLP is a mediocre cleaner, a poor lube, but a decent preservative.

If it’s working... don’t worry about it

BFCLP is all I’ve used (#9 the bore occasionally) on my PM9 since day one (Sept. 2009) and never had an issue.
In fact I’ve used it on several guns for many years without malfunction, excessive wear, polymer damage or corrosion.

Are there better C.L and P’s as separate products...yep...as an all in one...probably….will your guns explode in a fiery pit of wear and corrosion if you don’t use them….nope.
BFCLP will remain my choice because it’s available as close as WM, it’s not expensive and more importantly...it works.
If a sign could stop evil….They’d make holsters for them!!

My dad used Hobbes, I grew up using Hobbes, and still do once and awhile for nostalgia moments. However, now I use mainly Break Free CLP and Tetra.

Admittedly though I have only been usiing tetra since looking for a lube solution for pocket/purse carry. The wife didn't want anything to get all over her purse and/or smell it up. Up until a few weeks ago all of my carry solutions were paddle holsters or side carry ( under a jacket ).

BTW I don't clean the wifes weapon with CLP...hers gets hoppes elite no smell
Glocks, Smiths, High Standards, a kimber, a Kahr and a pop that reloads for almost all of em!!!!
