That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

Every 4-6 weeks or after weapon is fired. If the weapon hasn't been fired I usually just wipe it down inside and out with a little CLP and make sure the rails are greased.

I clean my guns when I can't stand it any more. I went almost 3000 rounds in my AR and it got drowned and I had to clean it. My loaner .22s get it when the quit running or get rained on. Carry G19 gets it seldom. It doesn't rust or hasn't yet in 4 years and I know it runs dirty. Sometimes it gets it at 400-500 or it has been as many as a few thousand. I shot 2 IDPA matches with it and 2 of us shot it in a steel challenge match this past weekend. That is right at 600 rounds without any practice rounds figured in. I feel the urge to go shoot it rather than clean it. Lol.

my 24/7 PM9 carry gun is always clean and lubed. being retired, It is not a big deal. I keep both of my Harleys the same way. Cleaning gives me a chance to look things over to.

Nw that I have acquired another pM9, it will be more of my rangegun and my carry PM9 will get some rest from the over 32K rounds that has went through it
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I clean all my guns after each range trip, and I clean and re-lube my carry guns every two to three weeks even if I don't shoot them. If you pocket carry a gun, lint/dirt from your pockets can build up and the gun needs to be cleaned every now and then

In my opinion after you shoot a gun its a must to clean it, unless its a .22 which I don't clean until they start malfunctioning..

surely not as crazy as 10K through a P380. I don't know of anyone who even has over 2K through the P380. very expensive range gun--ammo wise that is
