  • Laser Lyte trainer and barrel damage

Does anyone know if the laser lyte products can cause barrel damage.
They have cartridges that go in the chamber or rods that are inserted down the barrel.
The idea of extra training is great but not if it will damage the gun.

Their website is LaserLyte.com. Sorry I don't know how to highlight the web
    address.

I've used them. The cartridge fits in the barrel with O-Rings making the 'seal'. Pushing it out is simple and does absolutely no damage ... unless maybe you use a file with broken edges. The pencil works fine.

I have used both and prefer the one that is inserted in the barrel from the front. I find it to be more accurate. The cartridge was way off. I really like training with it, I set the target on top of the tv or on the kitchen table and practice "getting off the X" as well as just trigger control. Make sure you buy extra batteries as they wear out quickly. Also either remove them or use the supplied plastic disc to keep them from draining while not in use. I found mine on ebay for a great price.

I have the chamber cartridge and like it. It seems accurate and at least for me improved my shooting. What I like about the chamber model is it is triggered by the firing pin striking a pad on the base. The barrel model is triggered by the sound of the firing pin and, according to their video, doesn't always fire. Some have said the tip sticking out the barrel interferes with draw practice. The biggest pro of the barrel model is you can see it sticking out and hopefully won't get confused and shoot up your house. I've not read of any damage caused by either model.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I really appreciate them.
I guess the laser lyte system will be my next purchase.

For another chunk of change, you can get their interactive indoor target to work with the Laser Lyte. I'd like to have both. Bet they'd be more fun than a video game!
            Very interesting...

              Hey JFootin
I'm definitely getting both the target and the laser lyte.

Maybe you could attach the target to the cat and create real life moving target scenarios.

My cat loves the CT laser on my PM45, drives her nuts. Her eyes even light up when she hears that thumb break unsnap. Lifes simple pleasures.

I have the target and the laser that sticks in the barrel and it is, forgive me Bawanna, the cat's meow.

I have the chamber cartridge version and the target. They work great and seem accurate to me. Plus you can practice draw and quick target acquisition. My wifey likes it too. This reminds me, I better get it out of the box again soon!

Another thing is that you can practice "instinctive" aim instead of using the sights. Really helps with that.

I'm going to get the end of barrel model because it will fit all of my guns.
