  • Tool Mark inside slide?

Pardon my ignorance. I'm new here and a relatively new handgun owner.

I recently purchased a "new" PM9 off Gunbroker.

After disassembly for cleaning I noticed a small mark. I figure it's a tool mark. It's the small black mark about 1/3 in. down from the round machined mark.

Wondering if anyone could confirm my assumption or enlighten me. If it's a negative, please advise. I'm not thinking this will effect the function or integrity of the gun...but again, I'm very inexperienced.

Thanks in advance for your time and input guys.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't worry about the mark, especially if the gun functions correctly.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

That kind of mark is caused by a chip or swarf getting momentarily under the edge of the cutter. Its cosmetic....and not visible when assembled....and common in the gun world.

I call it a breathing hole for the extractor channel. My PM9 has it. . every keltek I owned had it..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Strange, my PM9 doesn't seem to have a tool mark such as yours.

It looks like a defect to me. I don't know what's up with kahrs quality control lately. My pm9 had what looked like a brush stroke of scratches in the black diamond finish right out. Of the box.

The little tool mark is no defect... except to those who see thru their buttholes - that is - those of a very anal persuasion.

The finish problem - definately... gotta get that covered as its a visible cosmetic defect.
