  • Kahr Mods and Accessories. Post your modifications.

Since most of us are addicted to our carry guns and plinkers, I figured we could do a thread solely on our modifications and accessories. Hope for everyone to chime in so we can all compare and maybe see what works and what doesn't. Pictures are a bonus. Maybe this thread will be a sticky if we get enough participants.

    So I'll start.

My CW9. Had it a little over a year and it's my daily carry.

    Mods:

I opted for the Wolff 5lbs striker spring. Worth it for sure. I also added talon grips and trijicon night sights.

I also bought the p9 slide stop and guide rod. Didn't like the black guid rod and I also think the p9 slide stop looks and feels better.

Replaced all my plastic base plates for the stainless plates. Look better, more durable and a little smaller for carry.

I polished my striker and all the other little goodies to add the the already smooth trigger. I also polished up the barrel and feed ramp.

I am currently cycling through 3 different holsters. Remora, KT-Mech and Crossbreed. I have a Bravo Concealment magazine holster. I am currently in the process of having a magazine/flashlight holster in-one being made by KT. I just bought a 8 round mag to go with the other 4 I have. I'll probably make the 8 round magazine my back up mag.

I put checkered wood (Kahr) grips on my MK9 and K40. The rest is bone stock...unless you count polishing the barrels as a modification. I learned years ago with automobiles: stock usually performs better...or at least more reliably

I'm thinking reliable is good for a carry gun.

None of the following are really modifications, but I added Pierce grips to my 6-round magazines, and polished the barrel and the extractor and refinished the slide with its original Birdsong coating.

Bare bones stock PM9 except for the bicycle tubing on grip.
Also, I recently replaced the original mag base plates w/the black plates from Kahr (no pics).

Sorry, no pics, but the only mod I've done to my K40 is CTL grips. I like the stock grips much better but love having the laser on my CCW.

                Two PM45's, one PM9.
All rounded and smoothed at the ejection port. Slides stops slightly rounded. Magazine bases reduced on the .45's ( bottom swell removed).

The only mods that I've made to my CM9 is a 5# striker spring and Qwik Grip. It's all that I felt that the gun needed and it probably didn't need that.

Now that's a modification that I could live with.

Total trigger-job...VERY smooth & light. Mirror-polished the barrel, & feed-ramp. Mirror-polished the slide stop. Agrip installed on the grip.

I shot my PMJ9 a bunch (the old shoot the fokker advice). The trigger is smooth as can be, and lighter than it was originally. Best mod I can think of.
