help with k9 slide being stuck

i have a kahr k9. i cannot get the slide off. the guide rod is protruding from the slide. please help. thanks.

How in the hell did you get into this predicament, HB? Have you removed the slide stop pin? This may be a job for someone with a much weaker mind. Jocko should be along any minute to help you out.

Well, we can't wait forever for Jocko. Assuming that the guns chamber is empty, the magazine has been removed and the slide stop pin has been removed, draw the slide back until it's even with the frame and pull the trigger. Allow the slide to go forward and if it stops release the trigger. The slide should then come off. Sometimes it take a little trigger and slide manipulation to remove and or replace the slide. If that doesn't work let me know. It shouldn't take any force.

trying to figure out what the hell is actually goin on, but your suggestion Muggs is certainly a starting point. If the guide rod is sticking out I can assume then the slide is partially back from its normal resting position. Not sure what the owner is really tryingto do either. Hopefully he ha snot taken it apart and then upon reinstalling it put the slide stop lever in front of the barrel lug, this will lock the slide up faster than a flock of sheep onEXLAX. I need to know more, as I am not as smart as u muggs who can read minds of utters and come up with an answer even before they know they have an issue..

Actually, if you were successful in helping him get the slide unstuck, and he then did the unthinkable, that would explain why you've heard no more. Though, to be fair, it would have been nicer if he had said thanks first ... just saying.
