  • PM frame problem?

My frame has a notch out of the rail. I assuming this is not normal. I have not even shot it yet. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

nor the arrow for its swiftness,
nor the warrior for his glory.
I love only that which they defend.

For ever reason they all have it, I cannot remember why, no worry.

I have put approx. 1500 rounds of many different types through my PM9 (about 9 mths old)
No problems and it shoots great. Keep it clean, lubed and loaded.

The notch is a feature used to locate the metal insert into the injection mold in the proper position and orientation for over molding the polymer.

I noticed the same thing on mine. Here's what it says on Kahr's FAQ:

        Q. There is a chip in the metal guide rail of my polymer pistol. Is this normal?

        A.
This is a witness mark for the polymer frame manufacturer and is present by design

Nice picture, they are supposed to be there.
