  • CM9 back after Cerakote

Picked it up today - I had the slide, rear slide cover and slide release lever done. I'm really happy with the way it came out. I had it done at Liberty Coatings in Berlin, CT http://libertycoatings.com

They do all the Marine Corps Colt 1911's, shotguns for Remington and many other manufacturers and are Creakote's lead applicator in New England. I stripped out the slide before dropping it off and bought a set of Trijicon sights which their gunsmith installed after it was coated. The President of the company, Giovanni, is a gun guy from the word go. He really knows his stuff and takes pride in his company's work. Cost $60 for the operation.

After hearing all the horror stories about dealing with removing the trigger, I didn't bother getting that done. I picked Graphite Black for a color.

$60 well spent. Trigger looks good just the way it is IMO
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Nope, that's factory original. I only had the slide, slide release and rear slide cover done.

                          Re: CM9 back after Cerakote

That looks great, I just may consider it for my PM9. I'd be interested to hear how durable it is for you over time.

My LGS is a certified Cerakote applicator. Recently, I asked him a similar question about durability. He said that abrasions tests had been conducted and produced a brochure showing a graph of the results. The data suggests that Cerakote is many times more durable than a blued or parkerized finish.

I found that graph online. Here it is:
