Are you sick of seeing the bottom of the stainless magazine in a PM9?

Are you thinking of the Polymer base plate instead of the black steel because it maches the butt material better? The black tape is to hide the space?

Too bad Kahr doesn't offer a complete black mag with the Polymer base - and come stock for that matter!

What would be nice is if someone made a mag plate that takes up the space AND gives the second finger a little tang to rest on and not make the mag longer.

I thought I saw online that someone used A&G space cover and mod it to make it very nice. Anyone can find a link to that mod?

        Thanks

I switch to the polymer base on my PM9 and took my trusty dremmel tool to the lip and turned out great for me.
I never liked the way the pierce grip looked on the gun plus the gap used to pinch me every once in a while too.

Why is it that every time there is a shooting spree they want to take the guns away from the people that didn't do it? :59:

cgo99-from the looks of it even the Kahr polymer base makes the butt longer.
I wonder if the metal one is thinner?

Yeah, it's a good post from Ol'coot but I saw another post by some one that shows step by step how to make thos A&G space cover fits nicely

Edited to add: I like the appearance, but not the added grip length. Guess you can't have everything.

If you find it pass it on.

To me with all the info out there it's hard to believe that some person/company has not come out with a solution.
If a baseplate that was thin, black, covered the entire butt, got rid of the space was available we would ALL be buying it.

You are absolutly right but just by a bit, I find that does not affect my concealment and gives me a little more real state for the pinky finger.

You know I honestly hated the concept of the SS plain mag, but after a week...I really don't care...unless you need to hide the glint from the mag...Thought I do wish they would listen to the populous and redesign their mags...

                      I Like Stainless

For such an expensive semi-auto pistol, you would think that KAHR would have at least made it black to match the frame of the pistol. The first thing that I did was to purchase the Pearce Grip Extension for all of my magazines. The grip extension allows you to get your full hand onto the pistol for a much better purchase. In order to install the grip extension, you'll need to take the magazines apart. This is very easy to do by depressing the small button on the bottom on the magazine and slowly sliding the existing magazine bottom off being carefull not to let the spring fly out. Once you have the magazines broken down, use painters tape and wrap it around 1/4" up from the bottom of each magazine. Make sure that the tape is stuck down very well. Then use a gun "blue" pen to blacken the area below where the tape is. You will need to coat the area a few times and let it dry for a few minutes. After it is dry, wipe it with a dry paper towel and the stainless steel will now be dark black at the bottom of the magazines. Replace the magazine followers, springs and install the Pearce Grip Extensions. Your done. Now when you insert the magazine into the PM9, the bottom of the magazine will be black and not stand out. The black area will also not rub off because the steel has been blued. I really like the way my gun looks now. No longer do I see the cheesy stainless steel protruding from the bottom of the pistol. This fix is in expensive and easy to do.
I didn't read ALL the posts in response to this OP, but I'd like to put in my 2 cents. As the PM9 was laying on my bed, I couldn't help but notice how the slide, trigger, and the bottom of the magazine were the same stainless steel. It all seemed to compliment the black polymer. Personally, I think it adds to the accent and makes the gun look pretty sharp as it is.

However, if I had the all black version, I'd probably have an issue with the bottom of the mag being a different color. Then, I'd probably follow this procedure.
God is good, ALL the time!

If it goes BANG when it should, I'm happy. If Kahr changed the mag, the next thing you know people would be paying a premium for those "old vintage silver Kahr mags" that stick conspicuously out of the grip. You know how it is....

ANYONE wanting to swap the stainless mag bottom plates for plastic or pearce grip extensions give me a shout. I prefer the stainless plates.

Hi guys. I'm a new owner of a CM9 and haven't developed any strong feelings other than loving the gun. As a possible solution to the shiny floorplate: has anyone tried using "Rust-oleum" style primer and then a flat/matte black spray paint used for repainting your gas grill? Simple enough to take the floorplate off and spray. I've done this to the backstrap of another pistol and it hasn't worn at all. My 2 cents.

                                This Fix costs nothing

Cut off the base from the 7rd mag that came with your pm9, and you'll fill the gap too
I may have posted this already but I'm too lazy to check thru this mega thread.
