I have MK9 and the wife has a CM9, but for our 14th Wedding Anniversary, my wife and I each got a Sig p938. The size and weight of the sig is a bit better than the MK9, BUT, the trigger is not a smooth, the grip is a bit too skinny for me. The recoil is a lot more noticeable. The only advantage of the sig is the reduced weight. I will keep the sig, but I just wish it was as good of a shooter as the MK9

That's why I've shied away from the 938, but if they come out with an all-stainless HD like the 238, the extra weight might help with recoil. They say the trigger smooths out over time, so give that a chance.
The Hogue grip might fatten it up enough for your tastes, if you want to give that a try.

I also have both guns (2 938's). They are really two different handguns. The no safety, double action striker fired MK9 has its place and can never be taken away, but it very stiff to rack for my wife. 938 single action and EASY to rack is what has convinced my wife to handle a 9mm .... and that is a plus to me.

I agree with you on how easy the sig is to rack. Big advantage for the wife.

I wouldn't want a sa for carry if I was not comfortable or proficient in the use of it. I carry an emp9 a mk9 or mk40 & S&W scandium 357 snub or a 329 night guard. I don't feel comfortable or rather dislike plastic guns of any kind. Just saying.

Weight isnt ever a Problem for me. Sometimes i carry my 1911. I got the MK9 because of the style and reputation of it. I wasnt complaining about the gun vs the sig, just doing a comparison.

You mentioned that the Sig was lighter and smaller. I carry an MK9 myself. I still would have opted for a PM9 over the Sig. IMHO. Just don't like cock and lock.Originally posted by Xcessive Carts View PostWeight isnt ever a Problem for me. Sometimes i carry my 1911. I got the MK9 because of the style and reputation of it. I carried a Sig p238 for awhile as a secondary gun, it also is a Single Action, Cocked and Locked. I also randomly carry a few of my 1911's, which are of corse the same type trigger system. Besides, the pm9 is a Poly gun, and I like my All Stainless guns.Originally posted by berettabone View PostYou mentioned that the Sig was lighter and smaller. I carry an MK9 myself. But, everybody that carries, no matter what or how, is a smart person. And, we are all right. Just my 2 cents worth.

Just bring spare mags!Originally posted by b4uqzme View PostMy MK9 has ruined me for all things 9mm. It is the only 9mm I need. Perfect balance of size, weight, shoot-ability...for me at least.
If I need more capacity, I'll go with a bigger caliber and a bigger gun.
