    Hello everyone,

Picked this up today from the FFL. I recently got my CCW permit and decided on the mk9 after doing some research. I am typically a big fan of full size, traditional DA/SA pistols like S&W 3rd gens, Sig P226/229 and CZ75 series. I know that plenty of people carry these guns and bigger without issues. I also know myself and realize that if I am actually going to carry with any regularity, it would have to be something a little less bulky. I looked at several other offerings but found I really liked the simplicity of Kahrs. I also found the DAO trigger to be smoother than just about every other striker fired piece I looked at. This particular gun was listed as "New Old Stock" so I put in my bid and here it is. The serial number starts with GA02XX. From what I gather, this would make it an older model. The gun did appeared to be fired as there was a little residue on the internals and the barrel has very slight wear marks. Not sure if this is normal as they come from the factory or not. In any event, I am very impressed with the fit and finish of this little pistol. The machining appears as good or better than anything else I own. I hope to shoot it soon so I see how it handles. I would post pictures but there does not appear to be a way to upload them from my desktop--it only offers the URL option. Now it's time to choose a holster...

Congratulations. You definitely picked a good one. You're going to love it. I've carried my PM9 for nearly 12 years. I've had many others during that time, but for me, the PM9 beats them all. Except maybe the MK9 I acquired a couple of months ago. I never thought anything could come close to the PM, but the MK is absolutely fabulous.

Keep an eye on the grip screws. While you're busy enjoying your shooting experience, they have a tendency to loosen up and walk away without you noticing.

Thanks guys. I will make sure to put a little dab of Loctite on the grip screws. MSER, is that a Pearce grip extension on the mag that's in the gun? If so, how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting some so my pinkie has something to hang on to.

I bought grip extensions for all my Kahr 6-round mags. Welcome from another happy MK9 owner.

If you are cool, you'll do the half-Pearce mag extension. Just grind some off...

Does Kahr still have wood grips for the MK9? Went to their website and could not find them.

The MK series is my favorite of all the Kahrs. I bought an NIB MK40N in January of 2012 that was built on my birthday, February 29th, in 2008 from a small gun store in Mass. The pistol is amazingly accurate for such a small piece, even better for me than my slightly larger PM9. This will be one the last to go if I ever decide to sell my guns, but I'm still lobbying for an MK45.

Finally created an account at photobucket...

Sorry it took so long to post pix. I have since added an E9 to my stable. I'm sure that there will be more in the future

Thats one nice pistol you have therd. Congratulations.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

MK9 is now my favorite and most used for EDC. If you are interested in wood grips for the older GA series. Contact Bawanna and see if he has some time. Great guy!!
