Got her a few weeks ago sanded off the rust/pitting from the frame, and got new grips

I also pulled the trigger out and rounded off those sharp corners.

I sandblasted the frame, trigger, slide stop and mag release. It was a bit rough so I burnished the frame a bit. I'll have to go back and bast the slide once I get a sight pusher tool.

If I have trouble keeping rust off I'm thinking about graphite cerakote. I found a finisher who isn't too far, is $110 a decent price to coat a pistol? I've never had anything cerakoted.

dunno? it seems pretty simple to wipe it every once in while. It's humid here in PA but I'm keeping my fingers crossed

I have had mine over 3 years & no rust has appeared anywhere. I wipe every gun I own right after handling or carrying. They get cleaned the same day they are shot. By the way looks good & now you have a custom finish.

Nice work on the trigger. It's a rare occasion hearing of someone taking the trigger out their Kahr. Is it really as much of a pain getting it back together as I hear? Any tricks you can share?

Those wood grips are a beauty.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I didn't have the right tools the hardest part for me was getting the pin out without scratching the frame, getting the pin back in was similar to installing the cocking cam and ejector except you need to knock the pin in. If I had a nice vise I would trying to press it in with a vise( or maybe mill or drill press?) but I was using caveman tools( broken drill bit, peice of walnut with a hole drilled out and hammer)

The first time I tried to reinstall I messed up the spacer orientation and had to take it back out, putting a bit of character into my new finish. Oh well I'll eventually re- finish with the slide parts and make it all match.

If you use hammer and punch, wear hearing protection you'd be surprised how much harder you hit when you aren't hearing the noise.

It had lots of this stuff going on when I got it, I just hope I can keep it off. Anybody have tips for keeping stainless clean? These are my first steps into the stainless world.
