  • New MK9 Elite 03

I recently picked up a MK9 Elite 03 from a buddy. He shot 50 rounds through it but needed the cash. Had a brand new set of night sights added. Not a mark on it. Serial number is GC76xx. Not sure what year that is. I have hear about slide and frame cracks on a few of these but I didnt let it deter me from getting this. Years back I had a MK9 Elite 98 and sold it off and that was one gun I really regretted selling.

Anyway I ordered an Alessi Talon Plus and a Mitch Rosen IWB holster direct from Kahr and picked up three extra 6 rounds mags. I prefer the 6 round mags. The holsters are great and I am really thankful Kahr stocks these. I ordered a Wolff guide rod and spring set up but thats backordered 3 weeks.

Overall its a really great gun and I dont mind the weight. I have a lot of plastic already so its nice to have a few guns with a little heft. My custom PPK/s is a little bigger than my MK9. Love the polished flats and the etching is really clean. The beveled magazine well could have been finished a little better I think. There are some uneven edges. Its minor and doesnt hamper the function but would have liked to see Kahr spend a few extra minutes making that more polished. That's really my only criticism.

Not many rounds down the pipe but its flawless so far. What I really am impressed with is the small size.

Welcome back to Kahrs with what appears to be one of the favorite models. This thread might help you get a date on your Kahr, or you can always call Kahr and they will be able to tell you. http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...9-on-GlockTalk

For a small gun, like the MK9, the Alessi Talon Plus is my favorite IWB holster. I think you'll really like it. Takes about 5 seconds to put on or take off.

The combination of the MK9 and the Talon Plus is about the ultimate CCW rig.

Congratulations and enjoy. And don't forget to give us a range report.

No the Alessi Talon Plus is not tuckable. It has a plastic clip but it seems pretty durable. Its a really nice holster as is the Mitch Rosen. Really dont see myself needing any other holster than these two. Got them straight from Kahr.

I have a Galco TUC460 for my MK9 which is a tuckable and fits nicely with good retention. Also have that same grip glove which fits and feels great and is helpful given the short grip.

What Desantis do you use? I have been impressed with the Alessi. Really well made holster. The Mitch Rosen is also really good quality. So far happy with both of them but I usually like to have 3-4 holsters for different carry options. I have used the Mitch Rosen before and knew I would ike it but also wanted to try the Alessi so I ordered that one when I ordered the Rosen. I think they are both worth the price.

Desantis Nemesis.....................my first, and it's going on 3+years old, basically has molded itself to the shape of my leg. It isn't everyone's cup o tea, but it works for me.
