  • New CW45

Bought a brand spankin' new CW45 today. Took it home, cleaned it up, lubed it and racked the slide enough to get the spring loosened up just a tad, aka my 1911 break-in.

Took it to the range, perfect. No jams, super accurate and recoil is very mild. I sold my CW40 and really thought it was a good value, so I picked up the CW45 for a good price ($355). Amazing handgun for the price. The shop even had an extra 6rd mag so I didn't have to order one online. Very pleased, way to go Kahr!

What type of ammo did you use and how many rounds
A CW45 may be next for me also.

I was running a bit low on time and daylight, less than 50rds fired of mostly FMJ's (home brew 5gr WST and 230gr Precision Delta fmj's) and cheap Winchester JHP's, also 230gr. I will run some of the fancier JHP's when I get the chance. Fantastic pistol! And honestly one ragged hole accurate, well at least at about 10yds!!

Congrats on the new CW45 - great price!

But new gun threads are a bit incomplete without pics, so.....

Curious, Why did you get rid of the CW40 for the CW45?

No real reason other than just because. The CW40 was flawless, never had a jam or anything out of it. The magazine gave me fits at first, but I think it was assembled wrong. Nothing wrong the the CW40, it's a fine choice!

can you compare the recoil between the 40 and 45 for us?

one hurts, one doesnt, u guess now!!!
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

                          I'll wager 40 hurts 45 doesn't, lol

Lol...no I tell you the .40 shot very very well and really just a tad snappier, but I wouldn't say it has more recoil, almost a different kind of recoil. But it didn't hurt.

Oh yeah, here's a pic of the CW45!

Recently got a CW45 as well. I've run a little over 100 rounds of 230 gr FMJ through it with no issue. Love the gun. Have had a couple 185 gr Hornsby critical that failed to lockup while shooting. May try some 230 JHP if that issues continues.
