I have a CW40 and CW45, I don't think there's much difference in recoil using WWB ammo. With SD ammo, sometimes the CW45 will kick harder than the 40, and sometimes it's the opposite. Last time I shot, I was shooting the CW45 with SD ammo, 230gr Hydra-Shoks, then switched to the CW40 with 165gr Rangers, and thought the 45 kicked a little harder. Anyways, there really isn't a lot of difference to me between the two. I tend to carry the CW45 at night and cloudy days, it has a CT Laser, and carry the .40 on bright days when a laser wouldn't be that much help.

I got the CW in 45 because I had shot other weapons in 40 that I just did not like. "More" recoil isn't really the way it felt - it was more like the nose wanted to snap more and I didn't like the feel, nor the follow up shot timing. I guess it's just what you are used to and/or prefer Both are fine weapons!

you should never sell a gun if it works for you. you should have kept both.

wow, awesome shooter, my brand new CW45. Fired 150 rds of various hardball and 100 JHP and not one failure or hiccup in one hrs time. Gun was hot but didnt seem to bother anything. Accurate when I tried to be, close groups when I wasn't-just trying to put ammo thru it mostly. Grip texture didn't bother me at all or 250 rds in an hour. Other posts mentioned the grips hurt so I did have a glove with me in case but didnt need to put it on. Will be my alternate carry besides my CM9. Safe shooting, trikerbiker

. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

yeah man! I am glad to read about the positive reports of new CW45's! I did 200 Win white boxes to break mine in, in under an hour. I did the bicycle tube cheater grip cover though; no complaints and no soreness.

I just bought some reloads from a reputable supplier, and hope to get on the range on Sunday to see how the CW45 eats them!!

Yeah it's a great choice for anyone wanting a small, accurate, single stack .45. I did notice something, I was going to chamber a round of 200gr XTP and it would not go fully into battery. I tried several other rounds, both riding the slide home and dropping the slide, and they just wouldn't. It's no big deal, it's not like I don't have other .45's that it will chamber in, but I found that kind of interesting. Anybody else have the same experience using XTP bullets? For the record I didn't try 230gr XTP's, just the 200's.

do u know if by chqance that bullet was getting stuck in the rifling of the barrel. It is odd but some rounds might just be to long or if the rounds are getting stuck in the rifleing of the barrel, thenIMO the barrel is not opened up enough. I would retest to see if that is happening. Put some magic marker around the bullet nose nnad retry it, if the round comes out with rifling markson it, then I wold caht with kahr about this. U also should be abletotake the barrel off the gun and take this same bullet and push it in the chamber and give it a good tap even and yet it still shoulld fall rightrbackout and not be lodged i the rifling. If this is all true, call kahr and chat with them about this. The throat of the barrel IMO could possable nee dto be opened up some more...

Took it to the range, perfect. No jams, super accurate and recoil is very mild. I sold my CW40 and really thought it was a good value, so I picked up the CW45 for a good price ($355). Amazing handgun for the price. The shop even had an extra 6rd mag so I didn't have to order one online. Very pleased, way to go Kahr!
I've had the same experience, not one ftf for fte so far in two days of shooting. This cw45 seems to be every bit as reliable as any of my revolvers.

I will try the marker on the bullet tip...the XTP profile is pretty abrupt, much like most .40 ammo, and I think hornady loads them close to max oal too. I think it may very well be getting hung up on the rifling, as the cases seem to be in spec.

No biggie though, I'm super pleased with it. It shoots great and I've got a holster ordered for it for carry. Here is the first ever group with it @ 10yds.

                        .40 is a snap

                        .45 is a push

But new gun threads are a bit incomplete without pics, so.....

How do you like your 7 round magazine? Thinking of getting one as a spare for my CW45.

It seems to be functioning about the same as the 6 rounder - both have had 2 FTFs each (350 rounds fired down range total). Got it free from the Kahr promotion last Fall, so can't complain.
