  • Quick & Dirty Magazine Mod

I wasn't really happy with the way my little finger rode on the front edge of baseplate of the stock magazine in my new CW9 so I spent about 60 seconds on the grinder and about 10 minutes with sandpaper and fingernail buffing files and removed the ridge.

It looks good enough for who it's for:

Good job, can even notice that you work on it!

Kudos to you for a fine job! I will have to try this. As am matter of fact, I just bought a CW40, the fit is perfect for my small hands. Next week I plan to go and test it. I will try out the wrap after that so I can compare which feels better for me. I will report back, but it will take me some time. I'm going on vacation for a couple of weeks and will be away for the computer.

Sorry for the cross-post. One of these photos is also in the "Mag Question" thread.

I decided to remove some more material off the front of the baseplate to make the baseplate as short as possible without weakening it. Since it tapered from short in the back to a little longer in the front I was able to remove about 1/16" off the front and then round it to prevent pinching.

To make it any shorter would require removing material that I'm sure would weaken the plate itself.
