If you have access to a small compressor....

I've had nothing but great success with the 2300 series GunKote from KKote (KalKoat).

Very user friendly, goes on like lacquer paint, bake in oven. Done. I suggest two or three not too thick coats. You can rebake it on itself, no problems. You DO need to degrease in something like naphtha (Home Depot).

Small touch up sprayer (NOT airbrush) is about $20 from Harbor Freight
The finish itself is about $10 from Midway
You can even go back with some "white" 2400 series GunKote after your final bake, and restore the sights to white dots (rebake, of course).

It also touches up EXTREMELY well. Degrease, dab on finish, bake. Done. Nearly invisible touch ups should you really abuse the finish. I dropped my slide stop on concrete garage floor, chipped finish... touch up was five minutes (and in the oven with a frozen pizza for dinner).

        CJB. Any pics??
I don't care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.

since this is the internet, i'd like to point out that the CWs have, plastic front sights. plastic + over = bad

Hard to beat Robar's and the things they do with Kahrs.

I plan to have them work my CW40 with a "Norton special" color job and add the Trijicon sights after I get back to work from my surgery. Not cheap but really well done on the pistols I have handeled.
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
              "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
              "more stuff than you are"
              God Bless our Troups!

Yeah, the plastic front sight might melt in the oven. Fortunately, they are very cheap from Kahr and easy to install. Please allow me to suggest purchasing a replacement front sight, popping off the old one, coating the slide and installing the replacement front sight after the coating process is complete.

                Best of luck!
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

Send it out and have it Duracoated.

Dot restoration on a black slide (Kahr)

                    Black slide (Kahr)

                    Another (Kahr)

Don't mind the dust in these shots... its ON the finish, not IN... I used paper towel to "de-fingerprint" - dusty stuff.

                    Inside Kahr slide

Nasty looking Remington-Rand slide (WWII vintage slide) on a Caspian frame. This slide was "draw-filed" then sanded, but not perfectly... just enough to clean it up some before finish. The underslide area and behind the serrations were left as is.

Dots in progress - takes two or three "fills" to get good even edge to edge

                    Blue 2400 series on a 10/22

One more shot of Kahr with black 2300 series
