I think any of these tiny guns can be troublesome, no matter what brand. And the fact is that 9*% of 'em work just fine. It looks like the P380 is past major growing pains. But being a regular here, I still see a few problems cropping up with individual P380s, and with other models. Kahr needs to tighten up on quality control, IMO, because no way some of those guns were closely examined and successfully test fired before leaving the factory.

Money is so tight for me, so I just couldn't see spending $600+ and then maybe hundreds more on range ammo and multiple trips back to the mothership. So, I decided to invest a fraction of that on another brand - the Taurus 738 TCP. I paid $191 at Bud's for a Plain Jane version, got 2 more mags and took it to my gunsmith for a fluff & buff, ramp polishing, cleaning and lubing. He even test fired it to confirm proper functioning. Just charged me $30! Only thing is I had to wait over a month turnaround because he is a popular guy. When I picked it up, he commented on what a good trigger it has. It is a bit lighter than my CM9 with the 5 lb striker spring. Smooth, but has a place in the pull near the end where you can take up the slack, refine your aim and then fire. (I wish my CM9 trigger worked that way.) A much better trigger than the P3AT and the LCP. Also, for some reason less punishing to shoot than either of those guns. Probably not as easy as the P380, but I could have bought 2 of these guns and 2 mags and still had money left over from the price of a P380.

I took it to my range and put 19 rounds through it before I took it to my gunsmith. I was shooting 95 gr FMJ ammo, and a few of them would stick against the almost vertical feed ramp, requiring a tap of the slide to finish feeding them. Probably the shooter because my crippled hands were not used to the kick and limp wristing it a bit. The kick is surprising the first time you shoot one of these tiny 380s! But the ramp polishing and the use of Hornady Critical Defense carry ammo is providing reliable functioning that I can trust.

Again, my investment was modest. I am very pleased with my TCP! And I have a totally concealed way to carry it and a spare mag that I don't have to dress for or even think about, yet it is with me wherever I go. Only Bawanna and Jocko know about my secret carry method. Access to this information requires Top Secret Clearance! :001_tt2:
    Very interesting...

Just send it back until it's right. Good communication is the key.

I think it totally sucks that any state can limit a person to two guns on their carry permit for TWO YEARS. I like a little variety in my life and limiting my choice to two just wouldn't work for me.

Kahr will fix it, it sometimes takes more than one trip and I know not why but they will get it.

sometimes I also think when these guns get as smallas they seem to be getting that shooter error plays a big part. far more than something like a big glock or HK or sig. Jsut ain't nuttin to hold on to properly and then things happen. I certainly ain't tellin anyone here ur the issue either but for sure before pissin and morning etc, eliminate all the possabilities. My P380 had to go back once and I made damn sure it was not me before I did it. It came back and they even called me to ask ifI had the gun aprt in the trigger area and I stated no (which I had never had any trigger area apart on any kahr), anyway they said somehow a P series trigger got instlled in the little gun and that was the issue. so indeed sh!t happens.

I love that lli bastard, I shot it 100 perfect rounds after getting it back , but I gaveit to my son and I traded my sons lcp for anutter PMJ9 blunt nose even up. I just could not pass that up.

But in my heart to this day I am not sure I trust my P380... Just sayin
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

When I bought my second P380 for my wife back in March, I believe. I looked at 4 or 5 in the display case and purposefully picked the highest serial number RC89xx. The others were RBxxxx, I believe. Lucky me... it had a bad extractor and went back to the factory. Then the danged magazine catch failed. It's fine now, but I can't buy a new Kahr... polymer, that is, that's perfect. My K9 was first back in '98 and hasn't given me any problems... just a tight chamber that would not take a few kinds of ammo... back then. They can be challenging and try your patience, but I've persevered and have what I want now. There ARE a few more I would like to have... the P9 and a P45. AND, if they ever make a K45, I really want one of those.

Yeah, I'd have to kill you and you wouldn't see it coming from my hiding place!

Wouldn't it be great if you could carry a G26 or G27 in your pocket? But I hear those fat puppies are hard to hide on your waist. Sure are reliable, though. I might pick up a G26 or a G19 one of these days.

I really like it. Holds it right next to me at 4 to 5 o'clock. I also have one for my pm9 but it is so light I usually use the pj for it. But for the g23 I like the double clip. When the guys saw it at my qualification they all were shocked how well it disappear under just a shirt and shorts. Oversized shirt of course.
