For real? Dang! My wife and I have always talked about this, and the only person we would consider, would be an armed forces member in uniform... and I'm not so sure of that anymore. I would stop to help any LE or EMT if it looked like I could help them. I always watch police at work as I go by to see if they are meeting any resistance and might need help. I wouldn't hesitate at all in helping them, but I wouldn't want to be perceived as another threat.
I realize that LEO's have a stressful job and need to react quickly... and I've seen all kinds of examples of how that can go badly for good Samaritans... we have lots of local examples of the GS becoming the victim to a "Decoy" or just a victim of opportunity. Also, the GS can get run over by inattentive or drunk drivers... we have a LOT of those... 24/7/365.25!
