  • Question about the slide release lever P380 and CW9

I have had my P380 for close to 2 years and the only bobble I ever had with it was in the first 25 rounds of the break in period. After that, no problems what so ever, even with WWB and the flat nose bullets.

Tonight for the first time, I noticed some play ( slight up and down movement ) in the slide release lever when it has a fully loaded magazine inserted in the pistol

I cleared the pistol and put a empty magazine and the slide relase lever was as tight as can be, with absolutely no play what so ever. When I put in a full magazine ( SAME MAGAZINE, chamber empty ) the play again was there in the lever.

I checked my CW 9 and sure enough it has the same movement at my P380 with a full magazine.

Since my CW9 has the same movement, i will not concern myself with it, but i was wondering if anyone might know what that slight up and down movement is there ?

With an empty magazine the follower is pushing up on the slide release lever, that's what holds your slide back after the last shot.

That's by design, as Short Bus said.
