  • I got my P9 some goodies for Christmas

Well after Christmas with some of the cash I got.

I ordered a 7 Rd mag (from Impact Guns) because I didn't get 1 with the gun, it came with 2 8 Rd mags(1 is a Promag).

I also ordered a steel base plate kit from Kahr...

...and a #22 recoil spring and a #5 striker spring from Wolff....

and a "Super Slim" IWB Magazine carrier from Foxx.

I think all this should make a good gun even better.

Nice, got goodies coming in the mail as well. Keep us posted. What difference will the springs make?

I've done the heavy spring in my P9. It works fine. I use a bunch of Promag mags, 7 and 8 rounds that seem to function just fine. They aren't as well made as the factory mags, IMHO.

I also added a grip sleeve with a finger bump. That made a big difference in control when shooting hotter ammo.

I'll have to get one of the flat, steel base plate kits, just to try. Maybe I'll like it.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I have a 7 and a 8 round Promag now, I got the 7 rounder hoping it would be shorter than the 8 round magazine, unfortunately it wasn't. I tried calling Promag to get parts to make the 7 Rd a 8 Rd, but they're closed until 1/3, so we'll see. I also have a size 2 Quik grip. I didn't want the finger bump, but like the rubbery grip.

Do you like the heavier spring? How much does it affect recoil?

I can't honestly say I can tell a difference. Tough to say without having two guns, side by side. I do also shoot a TP9 and a K9 with the P9, and they all feel about the same to me. No matter what the spring rate, it's still a very lightweight gun, and the recoil is going to be noticable.

I place my Wolff order mainly for the striker spring, but added the recoil spring to try for sh**s and giggles. If it helps follow up shots great, if not it didn't cost that much to try.

We've never heard of any bad results with the 5-lb striker springs. I used a 3-pack for several pistols for my wife and me, and then just got a 10-pack to do the rest of my pistols. One pound less trigger pull can't hurt!

Wolff doesn't show springs for the P9 on their site.

So, school a noob . . . are the K9 springs the same as the P9 springs?

The Striker spring is the same for all Kahrs (maybe not the P380, but IDK). The recoil spring is the one for the K9 and it works perfect for the P/CW9. IMO the recoil spring makes a more noticeable difference in recoil that the striker spring does in trigger pull. YMMV I would recommend both, you can't go wrong for the money (about $15 for both shipped)

BTW I added a Adco ST3 Speedloader to the list of goodies.

ALL Kahrs... I just bought a 10-pack and still have to do the K9 and PM45(today), but have done 2 P380's, PM9, P9, P40. The only difference in the P380 spring, was that the original was silver, but Wolff says the 5-lb springs fit ALL Kahrs. They make all of the Kahr springs, so they ought to know.

The K9, P9 and CW9 share the same recoil spring.

All of the 9's seem to have the same extractor parts, too. I've replaced the PM9, P9, and the K9's, and all look alike and are seemingly interchangeable... as I have done... just FYI.

If you have a case rupture... or similar high-pressure "event", the extractor is likely to blow out and the polymers tend to blow out the side panel. I know from experience!
