I'm new to Khar, I have been looking for a small 45 to conceal. I've been carrying a Glock 30 which is considerably heavier and wider. Since I'm planning to carry this gun all the time I'm hoping it will be as reliable as my 30 has been. I know there's a 200 round break-in period, so today my wife and I went to the range to shoot several of our pistols and the AK47.
I put about 100 rounds through the Khar, but there were quite a few jams, actually it jammed 11 times in all. 7 jams were ejector related and 4 were feed ramp jams. We were shooting PMC 230gr ball ammo, but we shot two clips of defense ammo, Cor-Bon +P230gr, it jammed with either ammo consistently.
Now I realize that this is the break in period, but I have to admit I'm a bit concerned because I'm planning to carry this pistol daily.
On the plus side, it's a deadly accurate pistol that points very well. Recoil is no issue at all even with +P ammo. I also really like the way it carries. The trigger is amazingly smooth, but I can't tell when the break is coming. I'm sure it's because I'm used to the Glock trigger which has a defined break point in the trigger pull.
Over all I like the gun, the jamming issue is my only concern, but I have to admit it's a big concern. The Glock will be in the holster tomorrow, but I hope to change that soon.
Any input from those with more Khar experience is welcome and appreciated!
