  • Can mag.- drop "safety" on CA version P380 be removed?

I've looked all over the internet for the answer, and I can't seem to find it. I know the wisdom of modifying a CCW gun is a whole different question, but this one (in title) is purely about mechanics.

I don't know about can it be done, but I suspect modifying a CA compliant gun to be out of compliance is against the state law.

Iwould say it certainly can, it's just a part. They took mineout of my M&P.

I have never read of a mag release ever NOT WORKING or fokking up a working gun either.

Might just be me but I just don't see the sense intaking that out of especially the little 380..

                Doesn't that make it illegal?

I don't think that you removing the mag safety is illegal, but selling the gun without the mag safety is illegal in California. This would be a strictly do it yourself project as I believe that it is illegal for a gunsmith to remove it for you. Check with your LGS. They should be able to tell you for sure.

if it is not law in ur state a smitty can remove the safety ,or u can yourself.
who knows what komifornia law is, With twitts like Feinsten and Pelosie anything can happen..

I believe this is true. I assume an armorer could to without legal problems, but I may be wrong.

For the record, I decided not to do it, since it is for carry and would potentially draw more scrutiny, but am still curious how it could be done.
