  • Should I worry about this?

Went to the range today to give the CW45 a workout. Noticed the spent casings were coming out pretty mangled. Not all, just some. Also had a couple of FTE that jammed the slide open. I've attached a picture. Normal or not?

A little dinged is normal. Those pictured aren't. What kind of ammo were you using?

Kahrs says thatis normal. U would be hard pressedto ever reload that brass IMO.

Maybe after200 rounds the brass damage willlessenup alot more to. Iamgonna blame that on very stout new recoil springs that have not yet reached their designed break in set. It is very normal to see the dented cases on one side of the brass, .

Those look like sh!t IMO save those in case u have to sendit back and also to compare looks at now and at 200 rounds. Might see a big difference..

Jocko, I've already got around 400 rounds through the gun.

Wow. Mine is brand new also and does not do that at all-- I have brass from yesterday's session in the tumbler right now and not a one of them looks like that.

what I woulddo is send that photo to kahr. attn Jay and runit buy them, U might stress they are un reloadable also .

If could be extractor related, keeping the brass i the slide to long ad it just forcing ad beating the casing out of the gun. I don't think it is right, evne thhough the gun works OK.

Yes, worry about that, something is wrong. Normal fired brass has only a small flat area on 1 side only. Do as suggested, send a picture to Kahr.

I'm jealous. I want MY PM45's to do that to brass. That is ******!

Seriously... some of my brass is unscathed, some is mangled almost, but not quite, as bad as yours.

Jocko is right... the more you shoot, the better it gets... depending on the spring, ammo, shooter, etc...

Wow I can't even think of how that would happen. Agreed, ask Kahr.

So some of those made it out of the gun without it jamming in some way?

My P380 will do that sometimes. I pick up all the shells and some look similar to that even though the gun worked fine. Weird. I'm sure the slide slammed shut on the shell but was able to throw it out and load a new round anyway. Yours look a little bit more crunched than mine though.
