Act-Mag works in CW45

Is anyone using the same mags, modified or not, in both a CW45 and a 1911 - say a Colt Gunsite CCO, a Sig C3 or one of the many from Kimber? When I bought a C3 a few years ago, I sorted through quite a few mags, mixing and matching followers, etc., to find about ten that work reliably with both practice and carry rounds. I like my new CW 45, but not well enough to risk any mods to my competent 1911 mags.

I use the 2 Act-Mag 7 round Magazines from my Citadel officers size 1911 (inexpensive 1911) in my CW45.
I don't have any of the 1911's that you mention though. The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

6 round act-mag
Just received 2 act-mag 6 round officer mags. After a few minutes shaping the feed lips. I will be really surprised if they don't lock the slide back. The follower engages the slide stop really well. I just got the CW45 a week ago. Haven't shot it yet been trying to round up 200 break in rounds. I bought it to be my EDC gun. I have pics but can't figure out how to post them.

Welcome to the forum. You have to have 30 post to attack pics but if you have a photobucket account you can post a link to the photo.
Again, welcome. The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Hey Sawdawg....
Just got in my first 6rd flush act-mag today...and it won't catch and stay
inserted....the feed lips are not right somehow...I got a 7rd that worked perfectly out of the box including locking back when empty is hit...
Got any pictures of what you did as far as how much file work or cutting
before and after...sure would like to use one of these...to go flush...

Send me the pictures of the work you did on the mags...I will see to it they are available here....

Anyone want to chime in on this....
I have seen some very credible folks in this thread but it seems like the same old questions keep popping up:
I have in fact purchased every single mag I thought might work based on all the input in this entire thread. The only one that I found I would risk my life
on was the ACT-MAG 7rd mag and maybe the Kahr original that came with the gun. But there are several folks out there that are carrying, using, and depending on other mags...If you are using a 6rd or 7rd mag with a flush fit bottom I would appreciate you joining in here and letting me and everyone else know what made you choose what you are currently using. And if anything (no matter how much work or how weird) modification was needed
please go into detail and tell us. People here really want to know what you did...not just "Oh I did something a little bit until it worked"...wow!!!
or I did this or that....and didn't take any pictures, or remember what I did or how I did it...Daaaaaammmm
Help us out here....
Cmon....
You are really respected here ....
It must mean something to you or you wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to make the videos, or post so many helpful messages....

Reason: I was looking for a magazine that would fit closer to the frame than the Kahr magazines (think shorter grip without a grip chop). Officer's mags give me this fit. Kahr internals ensure that the slide locks back after the last round is fired.
How: What I did is detailed here (to include photos): http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=34654
Results: I have magazines that fit nearly flush, have welded base plates (vice plastic), that don't touch the slide or extractor, feed reliably (nary a problem), and lock the slide back.

Greg is the Guru on Mag Mods I think.
Lots of other things too.The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

You got the 7rd Metal Form mag
Put Kahr internals in it to insure lock back
and you had to cut some of the hump (rise) off the top
Did I get it all ?
