  • Does anyone have a CW 380 yet?

I can't find any and was wondering if they have been released yet? According to Kahr's website they are shipping now.

I am on the fence between my first Kahr purchase of either a CW380 or a CM9. I have held the CM9 in local stores but was hoping to examine a 380 before making a purchase.

The intended use will be for daily [pocket] carry, not IWB or OWB. The CM9 will fit my jean pocket but the 380 specs seem to be a tad smaller and would may be preferable?

Just looking for feedback of those who own a CW380 or P380 and could compare your experience with pocket carry to the CM or PM9.

I iwb carry a pm45 and a p380 backup. It is the best of both worlds for me. The p380 is a little better quality that the cw380 from what I have been reading. Different rifling in the barrel and metal verses polymer parts for certain parts of the frame. If anyone knows more, please enlighten me as well. My p380 with night sights was expensive, around 600 bucks- ouch. Excellent pocket or iwb carry 380. Of course not as powerful as the 9mm but any gun is better than no gun. I have not seen the cw380 available as of yet.

I have both a cm9 and the p380 with a cw380 on order. I think they both are excellent guns .But for me the p380 fits in my front pocket better .I find myself carrying the p380 more for that reasom.

I checked with my lgs the other day. He said they haven't been released yet. Didn't give me a release date but he has them on order and would let me know when the first one comes in.

both great guns but IMO a 9mm trumps a j380 any day of the week. not that it won't do the job if needed, I lovve that black dlc finsih though. I really do..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I certainly don't disagree with your "hand" or opinion. I carry a .40 so I am just looking for a smaller pocket BUG. The CM9 would certainly trump its smaller cousin but if the 380 is appreciably smaller that might equate to more comfort especially in the front pocket of my normal work jeans.

I thought the frames were the same.

                  to my knowledge

thereis no substitue of polymer parts for metal parts in the cw380. The lower frames will be idetical. The difference in the rifling of the barrels is one ting but not either a bad thing, the cw380 will have a pinned front sight just like the cw or cm kahrs do, again not a bad thing either, as sights are now availalbe as common as the dovetailded sights. I can't say there is a difference i the quality at all other than what I mentioned but the basics of the guns are the same, pinned sights orver a dovetailsed sight is not a requirement for reliability. polygonal rifled barrel over standard rifled barrel is certainly not a requirement for reliability. All internal parts of the slide on the P380 and the cw380 to my knowledge will be exactly the same. the cosmetic parts are to me in the eyes of the beholder to. I think this little cw380 willbe a real winner when it hits the shelves to, as kahr has had about 3 good years to get the bbugs out of the P380.I can guarantee u that the first owners of the cw380 are gonna experience far far far less issues than the first owners of the P380..

My P380 is my constant companion and at times a back up for my CM9. I carry the CM9 AIWB and pocket carry the P380. Depending on what I'm wearing the .380 is in a RF pants pocket, RF jacket pocket or left inside jacket pocket. Both guns ride in PJ Holster, holsters very comfortably.

I bought my P380 as an alt-use gun. I expected to carry it only when nothing else would work. My CW40 is my EDC, or at least it was.
My P380, loaded +1, with the Desaints holster, weighs in at 14.5oz and it is just soooo easy to deal with that I really have to admit, it is now my EDC.
The spare mag and Desaintis MagPacker weighs in at 4.5oz and fits in the back pocket just as easy as the gun does in a front.
19oz ready to go, 10seconds to gear up or down and it shoots like a house afire...
                      What's not to love??

I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                      "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
                      "more stuff than you are"

Agreed 100%. The CM9 is small for sure, but not front pocket small (by my personal standards). I saw the ad for the CW380 in a gun mag the other day and said "finally!". I bought my P380 about six months ago, and if the CW was available then, I would have picked that in a heartbeat. I don't regret having the P380 by any means... (the black finish is sexy). But if I was just deciding to buy one now, I would wait for the CW and spend the money saved on the 200 round break in ammo.

Has anyone seen the CW380 out as of yet? I keep calling my LGS's and checking online but have come up empty thus far.

I spoke to someone who has one on order and they were told by Kahr it could be 2 - 4 months before he receives his.
