any used gun, look o er as much as u can. u never stated if it is from a dealer or private sale. but it would be nice if u could test fire it , to see if it suits u OK. or atleast get sme kind of retur policy if it does not function correctly.

that being said the P9 is just one hell of a great gu. . If by chance u get any piddly issues, these guys here for sure can walk u through it to.

I would advise even though it is used to do the: Treat it like a new gun, as u dn't know where it has been, how clean the internals are etc. If u do't get manual. pleaswe go to the kahr site and down load thei8r manual. there are some real usts in there that u shold be aware of. Unless u have had poly kahrs, don't assume u know it all and just tear into it. It is a simple gun but even thogh siple u can fokk it up by not taking the time to learn RIGHT the first time. It should be a real nice shooter. U can also take the serial umbert and go to glock talk and hit on kahr thread and they have a very good listing of kahrs serial nubers and date of birth. This cn tell u alot..

Uh huh, that's yer first mistake. Looking at a P9 leads to buying a P9. I don't know of anyone who can resist that sirens song. Enjoy your new to you gun.

I was able to resist...550.00 was a little more than I was willing to pay for a pre 2004 gun. I was able to find a decent price on a new CW40 at the next shop I went to though

Personally I would pass on the 40 and look at a CW9 or better yet a CW45.

While I like the 40 very much in larger guns, it's just too much flip for me in a small package. It might be ok in a CW as it's slightly larger with a little better control but I'd still go 9 or 45 myself.

This is not to down play the 40, there are many devout 40 shooters here with CM40's, PM40's etc. I have a K40 that has been magna ported. I still prefer my PM45.

But enough about me. You blaze your own trail and we'll back you up come what may.

Does the .45 have less recoil than a .40?

NO RECOIL IN A 45, IT IS CALLED A MANS PU$$Y GUN. Honder riders carry them alot, so I have been told.

You may be lucky to find a used one. Had mine since 2002 and it's not for sale. That being said, I wouldn't discount the CW9. Can't change the front sight and they barrel has normal rifling. Haven't changed the front sight on my P9 and conventional rifling would not be a deal breaker for me.

Look for wear signs on the chamber block. Mine, early on, jammed at times with the empty case laying in the ejection port with the front facing forward while caught on the forward part of the ejection port. The earlier ones had very tight tolarances. A little time with a dremel and some Flitz around that block to loosen the tolarances a bit and she's been behaving herself for years now.
