  • 8 Round Magazine Reliability

I was looking for a smaller CCW other than my Springfield 1911, so I purchased my CW9 last Friday and have run 350 rounds through it with out a single hiccup. I am very impressed with this gun and now that it has been broken in, I feel comfortable carrying it. I'm looking for another magazine for it and have been considering carrying a spare 8 round magazine. I was hoping to get some first hand accounts of others that own the 8 rounder mags and how they have fared with them over the 7 rounders.

I use a K920G model magazine as my spare magazine when I carry the cw9 and to date have had no issues when I use it at the range.

Of course YMMV, but I'd give one a try and see how it works in your cw9 and your chosen ammo.

Mine work great. I carry the 8 round mags as reloads for both my K9 Elite and the PM9.

I bought a used cw9 4 years back and it came with an extra 8 round mag. I use it regularly at the range to know that it works in both my cw9 and cm9 and Icarry it every day as my back up mag. I have had no problems with it.

Others have problems with any mag except what was designed for there pistol so try yours and deside.

I use the 8 round mags meant for my T9 and TP9 in my P9 and K9 every time I shoot them at the range. I've never had a problem.

I've bought both the 7 and 8 round mags for my CW9 and I usually use the 8 round mags at the range. For carry, though, I prefer the 7 round mag simply due to the minor length difference.

ditto on ripley's experience. P9 and TP9. I run the TP9 8 round mags in my P9 at the range all the time, nary a hiccup.

More of the same here. I carry a 7 Rd mag with a metal CM/PM/MK base plate and a 8 Rd as a backup.

                      8 Round Magazine Reliability

I just brought home a new cw9. I cleaned as directed my the many great posts on this forum.

The 7 round mag snaps it just fine but the extra 8 round mag I bought will only snap in when the slide is open. Anyone else had this problem? I haven't shot any rounds yet as I like to put in some time handling a gun at home before going to the range. It's a K920G mag btw.

slam that 8 round mag in a few times and see how it does.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
