  • P45- Not mentioned much

I don't see much about the P45 model on the KT. Maybe it is but as I look at he posts/threads I have not heard much about this gun.

Many of you out in KT world have, use, shoot this model? What do you think of it?

If you have one and have tricked it out, post a Pic if you can.

Probably not as plentiful due to it's larger size but everything that applies to any other Kahr applies to that one as well.

Just a larger version of the more popular compact, pocket size versions.

I can't recall right now who has one of those but I know there are several here in the family.

Looks like somebody did a little slide polishing on that one. Very nice.

I know that Robar has made one up as a custom "Commander" size gun. Kahr lists it on the Magazine/Media page of their Website.....Anyone out there had work done on ore? Maybe work on it's little brother?

The P45/CW45 guns are (IMO) more "Officer's" size than "Commander" size

One of our forum members, Ljutic, has a P45 customized by Robar:

If you think the P45 has little attention... look for discussions on the TP45. It's not a very popular pistol it seems. A few years ago I bought a P45 to test out as a potential CCW to go with my trusty Seecamp. It didn't pan out for a variety of reasons.

I then bought a TP45 with the intent of chopping the grip down to a P or PM size. The longer 4" barrel had a lot of appeal. I never got along well with the gun though. I'm thinking that the polymer 45s are just too light for me and the recoil. I especially had trouble with +P rounds. Again; looked great on paper, but just didn't work for me.

My TP45, (top) and some friends.

                  That's a nice collection!
It's too bad MMC folded I think that little adjustable sight they made looks good on Kahrs. I had one of their early (and even smaller) adjustable sights on a Colt Commander and liked that one as well. It actually worked with the Commander's stock front sight.

                      P45- Not mentioned much

I have been carrying the P45 for about a year and a half now, and I love it. I think it is not discussed as much is because of the cost. In CA I can't buy the CW45, so I went the more expensive P45 route. I carry every daly and the holster is a High Noon holster custom molded, and the mag pouch is from DGL Gunleather. The mag pouch is the best thing out there. It is reverse cant and allows me to sit without pinching, and is the perfect angle for drawing, much better than vertical. I also carry a Kimber mag modified to fit, and works flawlessly, and it is flush with the butt of the gun making it more concealable. I use Frog Lube so I don't have to keep re greasing it, Frog Lube doesn't evaporate. Hogue Jr. grip upside down makes it real comfortable, adds a bit I'd width, but not much. I carry PDX1 rounds and plink with Blazers, either brass or aluminum.

I do wish there were more venders making accessories specifically for the gun, flush mags and grips. It is a bit finicky about ammunition, but what I use works well.

If you have any questions, shoot. (No pun intended)

being the cw45 and theP45 are so so close to being the sameI wonder if the P45 was allowed in on an earlier rul;es regulation and now that komifornia has tightened up some of their requiremtns the cw45 doesn't muster up top them. Sounds like sumpin komifornia woulds do. after all you have einstein and pegosie there and they like to paqss laws and then read about them later.

                        U have a darn nice kahr though,evenifit is a 45. Just sayin

Nice rig. I may wind up with a P45... DLC with NS... someday. I opted for the more compact PM45 DLC with NS... never having seen either. I now have two P's the P9 and P40. I've put real flush-fitting mag bases on them which helps CCW. The flush-fitting base is the way to go, and makes the just-right-sized "P" models much easier to CCW... I had to add an O-ring to my P40 and then my P9, though, to stop pinching. The P40 bit me.

I prefer my bike tube grip covers, too... just right for me... not too hand filling.
