  • 1000 rnds through the cw45

Has anybody put more than a thousand rnds through their cw 45 or any kahr 45?. Just curios, I have only shot a little over 600 out of my cw45 and it keeps getting smoother. Is this a 5 or 6 thousand rnd gun?

I quit keeping track but my PM45 has well over a 1000 through it.

I would not describe it as a 5 or 6 thousand round gun at all. Your not gonna wear it out.

You might need to replace a spring someday but your not gonna wear the gun out.

Jocko has probably close to 40,000 through his PM9. He says I think 32,000 but that was long ago and hasn't been updated.

To live long enough to completely wear a gun out is one of my goals, but I know it ain't gonna happen.

My cw45 is close of not more. And hes it gets smoother and smoother.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I have two PM45's. One with more than 7,000 and the other with more than 3,000. The 3,000 round pistol is still tight. Everyone that shots the 7,000 round pistol says its sooo smooth. I get a laugh when someone says Kahrs are 5,00 round disposable guns.

That is good to hear. How long is a barrel good for?

I don't think anyone could predict how long a barrel is good for. Too many variables. Again I don't think you'll shoot one out but do make every effort and make us proud.

It's kind of like asking how many 2x4's a saw blade will cut ya know. If you hit a nail or lots of knots, not so many. Soft wood, hard wood.

Same with the barrel. All jacketed, all lead, cleaned, never cleaned, hot loads, on the sea shore with lots of salt.

Can't begin to predict. I suspect she'll go a far piece.

Pistol barrels are good for about 500,000 rounds. Jocko's PMJ9 still has a way to go.

I read a few days back that sigs are a 20,000 round pistols. I most a few that are far better than a sig . I would not worry about shooting a kahr to death but by all means have at it.

Wearing out a gun is just a reason to get a new one...
