PM9 owners, do me a favor... question for ya

The "tab" on my PM9 sticks out just a little bit. Thanks, never bothered me until now

after looking closely with the slide off I noticed at the rear rail it seems to have a paper thin gap between the metal and the polymer, where as the other side doesn't, molding issue or designed by purpose?? dunno, either way I can't see it being an problem but I will always be mindful of it everytime I clean the pistol, not anal retentive just observant I guess...
