.22 upper assembly for CW series?

Ive seen .22 assemblies for glocks/1911s but i was wondering how hard it would be to have one made for my CW9? or is there a company that does?

Wife and i are having a baby in like <12 hours.. lol and babies are expensive..

putting in practice time with .22 would be a lot cheaper alternative

not sure if they make them... I'm not a fan of conversion kits, but if you really want to save money I'd suggest putting that conversion kit money towards some reloading equipment, best long term investment I've ever made and wished I'd done it many years ago...

The problem is Kahr's mode of operation.

Normally the striker is slightly tensioned, and the mechanism relies on a full power recoil spring to hold the slide forward.

Assemble your pistol with no recoil spring, pull the trigger (unloaded please). The slide will move backwards as the striker is tensioned. In fact, its not unusual for the slide to move forward a bit upon dry fire release - when the tension is off the striker spring.

So, as the design sits, the ratio of spring tensions needed are more than the .22lr can handle, short of using a floating chamber.

As far as .22 conversions go, the best I've ever come across and own/shoot the piss out of is my CZ Kadet .22LR conversion for the 75B pistols. It's pricey, but it works with every ammo I've tried over the years.

Exactly what my gun does when dry fired WITH the recoil spring in it...I was curious if others did this as the cam moves..

I have given up on.22, I have not seen a .22 round in about 3 years I any of the walmarts I visit, it's all gone before I get there and I do not camp out waiting for it, I sold or traded all my .22's. When .22 is common again and not $40 for 50 rounds I may get back into it.

If you want a .22lr pistol, I'd suggest buying a dedicated one. I have the Advantage Arms slide for my Glock 26, and while it works, it is not nearly as reliable or accurate as the Glock. For trigger control practice it may be useful, but my Ruger SR22 is MUCH more reliable, and amazingly accurate. Just my 2 cents.

My TacSol 22 upper is totally reliabe ... no issues one recoil spring is dialed into power of ammo. Only two springs heany and light.
