Kahr CW9 to Fill the CCW Gap

I currently carry either a Glock 27 or Taurus TCP. I am looking for a single stack 9 that will be thinner and lighter than the glock. I've handled the Kahr CW9, CM9, S&W Shield, and Springfield XDs. So far I like the CW9 best. Anyone have feedback from their own experience in filling a similar role with the CW9 or feedback on their CW9.

The CW9 is an excellent choice. I own the CM9 and have often thought about getting the CW9 for use as a night stand gun.

I'd give the nod to a CM9 just because of the size. It depends on how you will carry it. But they are both great choices. Kahrs are designed to be carry guns. Once you've owned one awhile you'll begin to appreciate what Justin Moon was thinking: why he designed in the features he did: slim, long smooth DAO trigger, minimalist controls, etc.

Buy away but the problem will be you will have to buy more kahrs , like a little 380 or cm9 for pocket and a larger ct or tp for larger carry. Bad habit.

Amen to this! First came a CW9 for summer T shirt IWB carry, then a CM9 for pocket carry, then another CW9 just because it was such a good deal, then a CT9 for another great deal. The CW9 gets carried the most. Great little gun.

That's my intended role for the CW9, iwb for summer carry or when owb won't work for particular situations in the fall to spring. I have the TCP for pocket, that's why I'm thinking CW9.

I carry either depending on clothing and where I'm going. Love both CM9 and CW9. I even modified the CW9 mags to make concealment easier.

I carry a CM9 in the pocket daily and a CW45 if I carry IWB. I have a Shield and much prefer my Kahr's. Kahr's have a longer barrel / overall length than any other carry pistol.

I have the CW9 and a CM9. I have the CM9 in my front left pocket in a #3 Uncle Mike's pocket holster. I often carry the CW9 in a Lobo gun leather Enchanced pancake holster. Both pistols are excellent. I shoot the CW9 the most accurate. I have put Peirce extensions on my two CM9 magazines. It is difficult to shoot well for me without them. It is more punishing to shoot than the CW9.

I recently purchased a CW9,my first Kahr,to fill the role of my Shield. It even fits in the same Fobus holster,that is for a PPS. The grip fits my hand better and I shoot it more accurately. I love my Shield,but I am starting to like the CW9 better. I will know for sure after the break-in and HP ammo testing.

I like the shorter steel mag bases. Don't understand why those aren't the stock ones. I'll probably do the same if/when I pick up the CW9.

I did have to do like was posted before and add an o ring to cover the gap, but it works good. Can fit the CW9 in my pocket now

I carry the cw9 daily as a ccw. Ive put 1400 rounds through it with no malfunctions at all to include the break in period. I would highly recommend the spear gold dots short barrel hollow points for carry. They have great expansion and are made for short barreled guns. Im very pleased with mine so and dont see it changing anytime soon. Keep us in the loop!
