  • Review of My 11 Year Old Kahr

Went out and put some rounds through my 11 year old Kahr P9 Covert today. I purchased it new in late 2003. The Covert, in case some don't know, is basically a Kahr factory made PM9 size frame with a P9 size slide.

Hadn't put any rounds through it for a while before today, and for some reason, I fell in love with it again. It was shooting very accurately, more so than in the past. After the previous outing that I had used my P9 Covert, I started practicing and focusing on trigger control on my Glocks which I shoot pretty regularly. It appears that the trigger control practice with the Glocks has paid off with the Kahr. I never shot the Kahr so accurately in the past.

In any event, my P9 Covert has a little over 2900 rounds through it and is going strong. I know this is nothing compared to Jocko's round count in his PM9; but, I think it is a significant number for a pocket size pistol. The pistol runs flawlessly and always has.

Makes me want to go out and get another Kahr now. Wish they made a K9 Covert.

Now that is a nice review, good to hear a safe rider is a pocket rider again.... Got to say, take an MK9 for a run, the short slide is not so bad...

Thank God that I didn't have to buy a Glock to learn how to shoot my Kahrs.

Great to hear of another "Old Timer". I got my PM9 in November of '02. It's been my favorite go to pistol ever since. Only 3575 rounds fired. Yes, I'm ashamed. Hitting the range with it tomorrow, along with a (new to me) PM9 I picked up earlier this week from the pre-owned case at my LGS.

It wouldn't work. The Ks have some unique features that aren't compatable with another model.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

100 rounds of 115 grain PMC Bronze FMJ and 10 rounds of GDHP 124 grain +P without so much as a hiccup.
