  • Put Fibre Optic Front and Novak Rear on my CW9

Had no particular difficulty installing the two sights I ordered from Kahr. They came with good instructions and a tool for the front. The Novak, all black, no white dots, required some filing to fit the Kahr dovetail and it included a set screw for added fit. I like that aspect as I find I have to move most rear sights to the right, probably due to my old eyes. Haven't done any range time with them yet to see if they improved my accuracy or not. Will report on this later.

I've been looking at sights for my CM40. That all black rear site I just don't understand, but to each his own. There aren't many options for the C models.

Cool. I'd love to see a picture of that front sight.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Got to shoot the 9mm with new sights today with mixed results: The fibre Optic is fantastic, much easier for me to see than the original white. The rear Novak did'nt work out because apparently I filed too much off to make it fit and it wouldn't hold its position; keep moving and when I tightened the set screw it pushed the Novak up and out. Took it out and replaced the original rear sight which worked just fine.

Oldfatman, you made a good point, why in the world did I think I needed a different rear sight? Oh well, live and learn. I think I will paint over the white on the rear which will allow me to concentrate on the front. Might put a tiny piece of elect tape on it first just in case I don't like the all black.

With my old eyes, I need all the help I can get seeing those sights. I might get one of those front sights, but the back I'll keep or get something brighter. Maybe I'll put some bright florescent red or green over the white.

Out of all the different sights I have on my firearms, I prefer white........................it shows up the best for me. I've got fiber optic orange and/or green sights on a 1911, and it helped when I painted the rear Novak sight dots white to contrast with the orange. Just for giggles, you may want to try a Testors, or other paint/nailpolish paint chart, and see which colors you can see the best. It's what I did, to see which colors I could pick up the best. Out of the hundreds of colors, the white and yellow colors were the best. I am color deficient, so I'm sure it has something to do with it.

I think they are best for me too. My Hi Point has red rear and yellow front. The yellow is good, red is fine in good light, but not so much otherwise.

I am becoming a fiber optic fan, I see um better, with no line glasses and my age, I need every help I can get. I have the big dot on my PM9 and actualy don't need the rear site as that big fokker sticks out relly nice. Its not a target site but it is a real fast site. All u need to really see anyhow is the front site and most things fall right in place. I have always felt that if u think ur gonna line up that front site and back site in a SHTF situation, then ur probably dead to..Just sayin
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I've been playing with my LaserAmmo, and though I can hit a dime at 15ft, That's what I'm thinking when I'm sighting in, I'm dead, so I'm practicing from the hip, with a mirror over my back, other real world situations

Shot the CW380 and CW9 a bunch this morning with the sun over my shoulder. Found that with the Fibre Optic Red on the 9mm I could see and shoot better with both eyes open. Carried that over to the 380 and it worked with it as well but now I want an Optic on it.

Checked with Kahr and their price is $46 but they want nearly $14 for shipping! Damned if I'm gonna pay that for an item that weighs less than an Oz.

                        Anyone know of other makers?
