Currently own the CT380 and the CW45. My next purchase will be a 9mm. I want a 3 finger grip. I like the size of the CW9, but to get the 3 finger grip I will need a magazine extension or extended mags. Good idea, or should I just get the CT9 instead?

If so, then I'd recommend going with the larger CT9.
If you haven't: I can just get 3 fingers on my CW9 using the metal base plate. The plastic base plate would give me a little more purchase.
As you have a CW45, here's a shot of my grip on mine for comparison:

If you have large hands, then the T sized grip will feel very nice indeed. I like that I don't have to "bunch up" my fingers on the T as I do the K size grips. I enjoy both but prefer the longer.Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

The CT9 will give you a full grip. I have gorilla hands and have a ct9 and its a sweet shooter. I use a flush base plate on the mag and still have a good pinky grip on the pistol. If you have any concern about the grip length get the ct9.The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

gb - your hand grip on the CW9 looks just like mine on my CT380.
Always knew I had small hands - and have plenty of grip space on my CW45.
Probably will get a CW9 one of these days, and put a steel base plate on the mag.A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition

My buddy just got a CT45, and loves the longer grip. He has large hands and the CT gives him plenty of room to get all 3 fingers on the grip, without having them hang down onto the magazine base plate. It seems to conceal on him well too, since he is a larger guy (compared to me), 180 - 200 lbs, 5'11, and he likes having the extra round it holds.Tom

Well each guys hand size is different. for me at least I'll use my M&P shield 9 as an example. With the flush fit 7 rnd mag I can get 2-3/4 finger on the grip. I'm 5'-11" and 160lbs & consider myself to be of medium frame. On my CW40 I can fit all 3 fingers comfortably as well as my Kahr K9. Probably why I carry them more than the Shield. I believe you can get Pearce finger extentions for the CW9 if you have your heart set on it... I'm not too sure, so it's best to check their website for availability

You can always use an extension at the range and have the flexibility to be smaller depending on carry. Here are photos of an 8 round mag on a PM9 with an extension sleeve. There are 1 round sleeves as well that would allow the 8 round mags to be used on a CW9.

There's something to be said about the two-finger + pinkie curl under type of grip - at times - when size matters. You can always go with an extended magazine for more comfortable shooting.
For carry, I prefer the smaller grip of the PM/CM

Thanks for the replies. Confirmed my suspicions. The Shield comparison was great. I get a 2 finger grip on the Shield with the standard mag and a 3 finger grip with the extended. I will get my hands on a CT somehow before I make my purchase, I have a little time, it's going to be my Christmas present. If it carries well I will go that route, if not will get the CW with a magazine extension and a couple of extra extended mags.
My preference in carry is IWB and I generally prefer a shorter barrel. Well see.

My CW9 (or I should say my Wife's) fits all three of my fingers on the grip, especially with the mag with the plastic floorplate. It has been utterly reliable and is very accurate for such a small weapon.

I have those very two pistols and love them. The accuracy of the CW45 is surprising. My Wife carries the CW9 and I the CW45.

If you don't mind a little extra weight a Kahr K9 cannot be beat. I had one for several years, beat on it like a stolen car and it just would not quit. I sold it to an undercover officer, so he could carry it at work and he still has it.
I am still kicking myself in the pants for selling it and am tempted to get another one.
