I was tinkering with my cw380 and lcp magazines today and ran across something interesting. As I was doing that, curiousity got the best of me and I took my KAHR spring and tried to slip it on the lcp follower. Doesn't fit. The LCP follower is a hollow box design and the spring is too wide to fit. So i took the lcp follower and lcp spring and assembled it into the KAHR magazine with the two KAHR baseplate pieces. Hmm, more curiousity. Assembled, it looks and feels factory so I started loading rounds in. I got to six and realized there was some space left so I grabbed another round. Bingo! 7th round slips comfortably in. My curiousity is really stirring now so I cycled a round and topped off the magazine and began hand cycling rounds. They all cycle and eject as easily as the stock spring and follower. So I tried it in my 7 round KAHR magazine and it fits an additional round as well. the 7 converted to 8 is a bit loose as the spring needs maybe another inch for more pressure. The flush magazine is really exciting though since spring pressure feels like the stock spring pressure but with one free round. Now I'm anxious to get out and shoot it to see if reliability is still there. If it is, a call to ruger and about 5 dollars would get you a spring and follower.
I'll post back after shooting which may be a few days. I also may look into a longer wolf spring for the extended magazine. The LCP goes through extractors like crazy so I'm not too upset over loosing two magazines use for now since it doesn't get shot anymore. Last round hold open will also be gone which is a non issue for me since my grip style doesn't allow it on a tiny pocket pistol anyways.
