P45/CW45 Recoil Spring lifetime

Dear Everyone:

How much life time you are getting from a recoil spring on CW45 or P45?

Also, how do you know that it's time to change? Elsewhere on the Internet, some people seem to wait until FTFs start. But is there a folk method to measure string strength? For example, put it against kitchen scale, or put 1 pound weight on top somehow, measure the loaded length.

I have over 1000 rounds through mine and have not replaced it. It runs super smooth too with no problems. Maybe others can chime in with their results.
