  • Best SS guide rod for P380?

I'm going to send my barrel in for Robar and want a SS guide rod to do at the same time. What's the best currently available?

    Thanks for any input.

I may not be considered objective on this subject.

Oh I thing your plenty objective.

I'm not wise in the product lineup. I kind of thought you had one but wasn't sure. I assume since your not objective that you do.

I do, and one for the CW380. There is a slight difference in length. Kahr sells one too. Either one will work fine.

Is yours more of a beveled end?

Alphonse is too humble, and a class act.

That said -- I'm partial to the SS 380 Guide Rod he sells through Lakeline:

Note the checkering I added to mine with some Swiss Needle Files (and a whole lotta patience).

It has a bevel on it, although it is tighter to install than the original part. The idea is to keep the open ends of those opposite wound recoil springs in the slide where they belong.

I like my Lakeline version. I bought, or rather, ended up with the longer one, for the reasons he mentions here.

                  Thanks for the replies everyone,

Is the stock rod blued steel? It feels like steel. I was thinking maybe just have the stock rod get Robar treatment at the same time as the barrel and skip the SS rod.
