  • First Time to Range with Brand New CA P380

I shot the following boxes of FMJ ammo in order from most expensive to least expensive:
    1. Federal American Eagle
      • 50/50 rounds
      • Ran perfectly, no issues

    2. Armscor
      • 49/50 rounds
      • Lost one round that I ejected after it failed to return to battery
      • Occasional failure to return to battery, occurring upon initial load and during operation
      • Occasional failure to eject
      • A few failure to feed

    3. Fiocchi
      • 5/13 rounds
      • Multiple failures to return to battery, occurring upon initial load and during operation
      • It appeared as if the casing was simply too large
      • After 13 attempts (6 rnd mag + 7 rnd mag), I moved on to the next box

    4. Freedom Munitions RPT
      • 5/6 rounds
      • One failure to return to battery
      • End of range time

Apparently it's common knowledge on here that Fiocchi ammo isn't compatible with the Kahr .380s, at least not without making some modifications to the extractor. Armscor ammo is very cheap ammo so I would avoid its use as well. Stick with Federal, PMC, and Remington ammo for now until it's broken in. After that, welcome to the mad, mad, mad, mad world of trying to get your Kahr to run with everything.

Thanks for the advice on the ammo brands. If I have to stick to using premium instead of regular, I suppose that will have to do for now.
