Way more information than you want to read on metal injection molding can be found here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_injection_molding

Some shooters feel that MIM parts are not as durable as forged parts, so tend to replace them. Personally, I have never seen a MIM part fail on my guns, but that is just my experience.

And a big welcome to the forum!

In one of my many roles at the company I work for I am a metallurgist. While the concept of MIM is perfectly reasonable, I feel like the isze of the part and stresses that it may see could be an issue. I've seen metals do some pretty weird stuff. That and I perfer the overall asthetics of machined parts, just a personal thang.

:80: Also just had to add the tank smiley, just for cool factor.

WAY too much info there. I think I will just keep mine stock. Every time I buy something I have to change it to try and make it better. I have over $1800 in upgrades on my bike, and my ruger had to have Hogue grips that I took of cause I didnt like them. I got all kinds of stuff laying around that have been stripped off of things I have bought.

                    T minus 3...2...1...

Getting ready to walk out the door with a little over 400 rounds of 9mm. We'll see how many I have left when I get back. Report to follow.

Sounds like fun, I might try to shoot today as well. I bet you bring back 150 rds.
K40 Stainless (traded to) -> PM9 (sold to fund) -> Ruger GP100 Blue 4"...now Kahrless

Ammo can come back? This is a strange concept. If I don't want to shoot it, I don't bring it. I did not know there could be a return trip for ammo.
BTW welcome to this place, it's kinda like a bar where you bring your own, and it's all good. Some of us spend way more time here than we should.

                          YES AMMO CAN COME BACK!

Especially if you bring a whole lot to begin with! Rather have more than enough than be thinking I should have brought more. My range bag gets seriously stretched out on the trip to the range. What with about 400 rounds of 9 mm, 200 38 spl, 100 357 mag and at least 2 value packs of 22. No way I'll shoot them all but it is nice to have.

SWEET! Did you get the IWB clip-on model 100 professional, size 10A for the 9mm/ 40 automatic glock 26,27 and Taurus pt 145??? That's the one I got and it fits perfect. You can put it IWB or between the belt and pants. Rides high and close and the gun fits tightly in it. The clip is stong enough to were without a belt too.
