  • Lube with grease same as oil??

I bought some of the grease for my gun but want to know if you use it in the same areas as the oil? Also I noticed the bullet with the slide open and ready to chamber has a little cant to the right. Is this normal for the Kahrs?? Never had a feeding problem and gobbles up everything I put in it.Also cleaning the striker channel out last night I got some brass shavings blasted out. Just something else normal, Just wondering

I use the grease on the slide rails and a little bit where the barrel hood hits the inside of the slide. I generally put a little bit around the end of the barrel but oil will work there just as well. Usually if I see a wear spot, I put a little grease there to keep things moving slick.

The rails is the main grease place for me.

I'm sure cartridges can easily be deflected a bit in the magazine and as long as it's feeding them I'd not give that any concern.

I'm not sure on that striker debri. I took my PM45 apart completely before I ever shot it just to see what was left in there from the factory and it was squeaky clean. I've never noticed anything come out of it during the blast and kind of wonder how anything substantial would get in there but many report brass or diatrus coming out.

Next week when I get my striker spring from MW I'll take it apart and see what my striker channel looks like now to see what if anything is in there.

The lube isnt near as messy as the oil.I tried it on the barrel and the guide rod also. The stiker gets a 1/2 drop oil and it sound nice and crisp. I am not concearned about the small amunt of shavings after 100 rounds. As long as it gobbles up everything without a hiccup Im not too worried. the only complaint I have is cleaning it in the garage and have to listen to the wife telling me the cleaning solvent stinks up the place. that's MY garage anyway!!!

I use a light grease, TW25b, because it is more stable, less evaporative and does not migrate off the critical components as a light oil may do. Rotational points get oil, slide and heavy wear areas get grease.

Try some Eezox for cleaning. It works well and smells OK
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

I'm in no hurry, only mentioned because I know I'll be inside my slide, I might as well check for debri in the striker channel.

Mexico? They don't allow no protection down there. Seems you said this was work related. Do you get hazardous duty pay for going there.

Do be careful, I don't forsee me coming to your rescue down there. Too scarey for me.

No joy. The mail person did not deliver today So unless they deliver tomorrow we may be out of luck on the springs until I get back.

I'll be going pretty much way south of the border and will be offshore every day flying in and out by helicopter every day. It is pretty quiet where I'll be. Small town and that.

Hmm, flying everyday, maybe I should get hazardous pay. But I will be staying at a Holiday Inn Express so maybe I'll get to be as smart as jocko!

Remember if the wings are going faster than the fuselage your in a heliochopper and hazardous pay is most definitely in order.

Maybe while your offshore you can look around for some of that rumored offshore money floating around and send me some of that too. They say money don't buy happiness but I'd like to prove it to myself. I'll gladly report back and share my findings.

Yea, it's always a joy flying in a helicopter. I've flown so much in them, I fall asleep as soon as we take off. Gotta rest up for a full day of work in less than 6 hours.

I haven't seen any of that offshore money down Mexico way, but I have been to the Cayman Islands and seen where some of it is stored.

Well lets forget Mexico then. Who owns these Cayman Islands? Where they at? Show me the money.

Cayman Islands are are part of the British Commonwealth. Located in the Caribbean Sea to the south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica. Nice place to visit but pretty expensive since they are islands and just about all food stuffs have to be imported.

I don't need to stay long (do they have Holiday Inn's?) I just wanna grab the loot and scoot you know? Latch onto a couple off shore accounts. Bring em back to the main land, specifically my house. I'll even buy a new mattress to sew it all up in.

LOL - When I was first there, stayed in a Holiday Inn on the beach. This was about 20 years ago. Room looked like any Holiday Inn in small town America and cost about $250 per day. View was nice though. Moved out to another hotel owned by Dolly Parton that was cheaper and better. (Didn't see Dolly though)

Yea, a mattress will be required to get the money back! If you make about, what 100 trips, you could bring back $9,999.99 per trip and would not have to declare it through customs.

Sorry for the short hijack. Your post will be returned to you unharmed (maybe )
